China Glaze Fight Like A Woman Collection Swatches & Review

Believe it or not, October is fast approaching. October is not just for Halloween, but also is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

China Glaze has a new collection called Fight Like A Woman that was created to bring awareness about breast cancer. They will give a portion of proceeds to the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

You may or not may know this, but I hear about breast cancer every single day when I’m at work. I work for a Biotechnology company that makes a widely used breast cancer drug, so it’s definitely not a topic I only think about one month a year. But I do think it’s great when companies try to help out in any way they can by raising awareness.

The formula on these was really totally fabulous, not a problem to report.

Encouragement is a light baby pink with silver shimmer. How can I put this…I LOVE THIS COLOR! Really. I saw the 3 pinks, and I knew they would be pink because that’s the color of breast cancer awareness, and I didn’t expect to totally love any of them. But I do. This reminds me of the dress the good witch Glinda wore in The Wizard Of Oz, all sparkly and pretty. :) This was on the more sheer side, but I used three coats and I think it looks great.

Empowerment is a cotton candy pink creme. This is another one I really like and think flatters my skin tone a lot. It borders on being a Pepto pink, but not as dark and it’s not pastel or chalky at all. This was two coats.

Endurance is a raspberry pink with lots of pink shimmer. Hawt! For some reason I was expecting that this would be sheer, but I put three coats on and it’s perfectly opaque. A great summer color also I think!

This collection will be available at beauty supply stores and some salons in September.

Whaddya think?

They are all gorgeous- I am definitely getting them. Such a good cause as well.

Ohhhh! These are quite pretty! I was thinking I’d have ignore this set b/c I have a lot of pinks already, but these swatches are making me rethink that…

  • July 23, 2010

The first two are so pretty!

  • July 23, 2010

Love these! I wasn’t expecting to like them, either as I’m not usually a pink polish person, but I think they’re lovely. I’ll be buying them all for that reason and to do a small part in supporting breast cancer research. Thanks for the swatches.

BTW, I’m loving the new format. Took me a day or so to get used to it, but once I did – wowza it’s awesome!

I love that these pinks are unique. Yay for China Glaze for not feeling boxed in to a certain type of pink, but celebrating the best of the color during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

  • July 23, 2010

These are sooooo gorgeous! Definitely not the usual boring pinks.

  • July 23, 2010

I love love love Encouragement for sure. That’s on my wish list. The other two I’m not as mad on, but will probably get anyway since they’re not like anything I have! :)

I LOVE these pinks, and I am so glad to finally see them swatched! Encouragement and Endurance are my favs and I can’t wait to get my mitts on them! Do you know when they will be available, and if they are only available as a set or will they be available individually?

  • July 23, 2010

I definitely love Endurance, and the other two look pretty as well. September can’t come quickly enough; there are so many great collections coming out!

I like them all! Encouragement is my fave too. Somehow it seems unique, even though it’s pink. And Endurance reminds me of Wing It (which I’m wearing right now)

  • July 23, 2010

Those are pretty pinks!! I can’t decide which one I like more, I guess I’ll have to get them all! 😀

Great pinks, luckily they don’t feel like boring standards!

Like someone said, Endurance reminds me of Wing It! And also like.. a pinker Raspberry Festival..?
How does it compare to them?

Also, when will these be released?

  • July 23, 2010

    oh I love Encouragement!

  • July 23, 2010

What a great name for a collection…really makes a statement. I think I might have to get these just to support this cause! I do have a zillion light pinks from Essie, but what’s a few more?! The glitter is AMAZING!

  • July 23, 2010

What cancer drug does your company make? I thought these would be the usual boring pinks, but these are great! I love ChG, they’re definitely my favorite brand.

    • July 23, 2010

      Hi Arrianne,

We make a lot of cancer drugs, but the one for breast cancer is called Herceptin.

  • July 23, 2010

Encouragement and Endurance are so cute and pretty! I think Endurance looks a lot like OPI Wing It. :)

HOLY CRAP LOL Those are gorgeous pinks! I come from a long line of breast cancer genes with only 2 survivors so this is a cause very near & dear to me. These colors are just lovely. I will definately have to pick up a few sets for stocking stuffers :)

  • July 24, 2010

Encourgement is my favorite of the three. I would always buy these collections whether I liked them or not.

    Hi VV,

China Glaze “saved” me from my nail biting (hehe), and their colors are so beautiful, but this just made me cry. I had a breast tumor removed three weeks ago and am still healing… what timing to see CG come out with these! Thanks for posting the swatches. I’ve been reading for several months, I just haven’t ever replied to anything before.

      Hi Mandy,

It’s for a great cause, for sure. So sorry to hear you had surgery, I hope everything is ok and you heal quickly.

  • July 26, 2010

Surprised how much I like all these! Woo, pretty

  • July 30, 2010

Great cause. I love the names.
