Sephora by OPI Nail Colour Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

Happy Saturday folks!

As you may have heard Sephora by OPI has their new fall collection out on their website already. It looks like they have about nine new colors and I bought four of the ones that looked the most interesting to me.

I wound up being pretty pleased with three of the four. I was a little worried because some of them were described as “sheer” but they really are only sheer if you use one coat.

The formula was pretty decent. The metallic ones were a wee bit streaky but not too bad. They all were only two coats with one exception.

Sephora by OPI Go My Own Way Sephora by OPI Nail Colour Fall 2010 Swatches & Review
Go My Own Way

Go My Own Way is a kind of dusty blue metallic teal with light blue shimmer. This reminds me of the ocean. It’s an unusual blue, which makes it fairly unique for me. I liked it even though it was a little streaky. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI Studs Stilettos Sephora by OPI Nail Colour Fall 2010 Swatches & Review
Studs & Stilettos

Studs & Stilettos is described as a “metallic mahogany” and it’s also got a silver ribbon of shimmer running through it. I am very partial to medium & dark browns for some reason, and I really like this one a lot. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI Just a Little Dangerous Sephora by OPI Nail Colour Fall 2010 Swatches & Review
Just a Little Dangerous

Just A Little Dangerous is an amethyst purple with pink shimmer. GORGEOUS. If you only get one, this is the one to get; it’s stunning. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI Already Famous Sephora by OPI Nail Colour Fall 2010 Swatches & Review
Already Famous

Already Famous is a taupe/gold with silver, gold and other colored micro-glitter. I wasn’t thrilled with this one to be honest. The color is ok, but a little thin on the color impact and opacity for me. This was one of the ones described as “sheer” so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised! This was three coats.

Here are all the new colors out now:

You can find these on Sephora’s website now and they are $9.00 each.

Which ones are calling your name?

Club Scene Queen is a dupe for Zoya Kotori. Cool color but I could have done with just one of them:)

Not keen. Studs and Go Own Way look marginally streaky/brushstrokey which I know must be the fault of the polishes because Kelly does beautiful nails and Famous looks like it has tip wear which it can’t have as it’s just a swatch.

So that tells me the formula isn’t great. Avoid.

Great colors! I really like Studs & Stilettos, Dating the Drummer, Rock His World, and Just A Little Dangerous. I like Sephora by OPI far more than the regular OPI!

      Hi Allison,

Nope, I never use a top coat in my swatches unless I am showing a matte color with and without one, and I always say if I do.

      Hi Kensey,

A little bit, but I think Electronica is more of a blurple base, rather than purple.

I like Go My Own Way and Just A Little Dangerous. I’m not into browns on me and Already Famous looks pretty typical. They look cute, but not must-have cute for someone like me on nail polish rations haha

I feel like I’ve seen versions of Go My Own Way in all of OPI’s various brands in the recent collections…Sephora, Nicole, & regular…enough already with the teal shimmer!! Just kidding, I like the color. The purple is striking…and the mahogany, too. We’ll see…Beautiful swatches, as always!

I like Just A Little Dangerous, but the color looks awfully familiar (which is why I like it, of course!). I think I’m going to wait for comparison swatches to see if it’s different enough that I have to have it!

Not really impressed with this collection. I don’t have any OPI or Sephora for OPI and wanted to try it though. I might get Do I Know You but it reminds me of Eyeko’s Tea Rose nail polish which I was sent to try out.

I own Dating the Drummer, Studs & Stilettos and Club Scene Queen. I haven’t tried the last two, but I was a little disappointed in Dating the Drummer. The shimmer only showed up in the brightest sunlight. Otherwise, it probably looks a lot like Studs & Stilettos. I was hoping Already Famous would be more grey/silver so I’m glad that I didn’t get that one!

I really like the brown one, I love brown polishes so I’ll probably pick that one up. I really like that blob of Dating The Drummer too, look like it might be an interesting color.
