OPI Swiss Collection for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review – Part I
OPI Swiss for fall 2010 is here!
This collection is made up of twelve new colors. One half of the collection is shimmery metallics, and the other is cremes. Today I’ve got the shimmery (better half) of the collection for ya.
The formula on these was pretty nice. They were thick and I got good coverage after three coats for most (some were two).
NOTE: Vampy Varnish 3.0 is finished and should be live within a day or two. You might not see a post from me tomorrow or Wednesday, so don’t panic. I am trying to coordinate a time for the new site to go live, and since I am in the US and my web design company is in New Zealand, it’s a little tricky!
Glitzerland
Glitzerland is a C3PO gold metallic. I always think of C3PO when I see this color and that makes me happy. Love this gold because it’s not real warm, and suits my skin tone nicely. It’s got little flecks of other colors in it as well. This was two, very un-streaky coats.
The Color To Watch
The Color To Watch is a lavender with blue and pink shimmer. Totally in love with this color, it’s so pretty! This was three coats.
Cuckoo For This Color
Cuckoo For This Color is a deep emerald green with multi-colored shimmer. I love this kind of green and don’t actually think I have too many like it. This was three coats.
Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous
Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous (this name bugs me) is a smokey greyish silver with lots of shimmer. It’s got a bit of a green look to it also. I am kind of “meh” about this one for some reason, not sure why. It’s nice enough, but I don’t don’t LOVE it. This was two coats.
Yodel Me On My Cell
Yodel Me On My Cell is a vivid blue with green shimmer. In the bottle you see a lot of green shimmer, but it doesn’t quite translate that much on the nail. It’s still one of my favs of this collection though, very nice. This was three coats.
Diva Of Geneva
Diva Of Geneva is a glowy jewel-toned pink/purple/red with multi-colored shimmer. What can I say, this one is the star of the show for me! I am totally enamored. This was three coats.
Overall I think this half of the collection is spot on. They really came up with some fabulous, interesting, unique colors, and I am very pleased with it.
Stay tuned for part II of this collection soon, which features the cremes (mostly reds, LOUD SIGH).

Diva of Geneva reminds me so much of that oldie revlon, Purple Potion i think it was called, from about the same time rock royalty and rocker chic were released. I might have to get it just to make a comparison

I love love LOVE your website. I have spend hours on vampy varnish and am a nail polish fanatic! I don’t know why- but I find whenever OPI comes out with a new collection they always have a bunch of colours that I’ve just never seen before. Or shades of colours that are just so different! my very first polish was OPI when I was 12, and I’ve stayed loyal to the brand ever since! The colours that I will definetley purchase after looking at both parts of the collection are Diva of Geneva, Cuckoo for this colour and Yodel me on my cell! Which colours are your favorite?

I was so hoping to like nothing in this collection, but oh no! I love The Color to Watch, Cuckoo for this Color, and Diva of Geneva. I should just split my wallet in half and give one part to OPI and the other to MAC. Thanks for the gorgeous swatches!

Diva of Geneva, Cuckoo for this Color and The Color to Watch are my favourites! I hate that OPI is becoming harder to get. The only way I could easily get OPI is through etailers. The closest store to get OPI in my area is over an hour away. Actually, a hair salon in my hometown was selling the Summer Flutter colours but they were 10.50 each…

Ooh! I can’t wait to see the second half on you – I know there’s some reds in there but for some reason I’ve been really interested in these reds. I somehow got sucked into lemming them. But this half is GORGEOUS and I really want them all!

I was wondering how does Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous compare to China Glaze Jitterbug. My wallet can’t handle all of the new fall collections. However, I think that Diva of Geneva and The Color to Watch are necessary for my well being in life!

I like the finish on these. I like a frost, but not the streakiness, so these look great! Diva of Geneva is my favorite, and The Color to Watch is looking pretty good, too!

Loving the OPI, “Color to Watch,” “Yodel Me on My Cell, and Diva of Geneva” (Gorgeous and very pretty pink, purple and red jeweled color. ) Your right it is the star of the show. Along with The color to watch I love the lavender blue shade.

Kelly… do you remember La Boheme? It was the most beautiful color ever, IMO, sadly they discontinued it and I was horrified… so, do you think Diva of Geneva would be a comparable substitute? It looks like it’s pretty fab… is it duo-chrome-y? It’s GORG!!!!

Happy to note it looks nothing like it! Edtya is much darker, more green and more of a mossy/fern green, and with a strong gold shimmer.
