Milani Liquid Metal Nail Lacquer Collection Swatches & Review
G’day mates!
Today I’ve got some hot, metal, glittery fabulousness for you. In other words, Milani’s Liquid Metal collection for summer 2010. 
This is a new collection of six glitters that initially I wasn’t all that excited about, but having swatched them I have changed my mind.
A word about formula, it’s pretty good. The one thing to note is apply these in thinner layers and wait a few minutes in-between coats or they will get gloopy at the tips and you’ll get cuticle drag. Other than that, they were fine. Most were even only two coats!

Melt In The Sun
Melt In The Sun is a burnt yellow/gold with gold shimmer. Now this is the kind of color that just clashes on me because of all the yellow in it. It looks awful on me, however I think those with a different skin tone would look great wearing it. This was two coats.
Metal Gear
Metal Gear is a burnt orange with gold shimmer. This looked much better on me and I liked it. This was two coats.
Hot Metal
Hot Metal is a pink/purple with lavender/blue/pink duochrome shimmer. Needless to say THIS is the stunner here. It’s 10 times better in person and when I first saw these in stores my eye immediately went to this one first. Gorgeous. This was a little more sheer than the others though, so I used three coats.
Melt Down
Melt Down is a cherry red with red shimmer. It’s pretty, and a great cool toned red. This was two coats.
Molten Rock
Molten Rock is a medium blue with light blue shimmer. This was my second favorite here. I always like the more unusual and cooler colors This was two coats.
Melt With U
Melt With U is a red/pink with red shimmer. Very pretty, this was my fav of all the “red/orange/gold” colored ones. This was two coats.
Overall I think this is a great, fun, summer collection and the STAND OUT shade, and probably the fan favorite of course is Hot Metal.

Although I would never ever wear it, my fav is Melt in the Sun for the chrome-like factor. I feel like we have seen similar to the others…..thanks for the swatches…your enthusiasim is appreciated!!

I absolutely love these! I have Melt Down, Hot Metal, and Molten Rock. I must say my favorite is also Hot Metal. It looks amazing in person and in the sun!!!

I hate that we don’t get a wider range of Milani polishes here. They are sold in our local Superstore grocery stores, but just ten core colours…sigh… I love Hot Metal too, and I think it looks awesome on you!

It’s was hit or miss here until recently. Target just started carrying them here and I found a great CVS about 20-25 mins from home that always seems to have other brands I can’t find closer to home. It’s all about “the hunt” hahaha.

I feel like all the polishes now are doing shiny, “fish scale” colors, not glitter, but more “glass fleck shimmer”..Zoya, OPI, Sally and now Milani. great for the summer sun!

If only the stores around here carried Milani at all….:(. I keep hoping they’ll show up on cvs.com or something (no, we don’t have CVS here either!).
Hi Kelly: This is for Tropical Chrome Walgreens.com carries even less of Milani polishes. Maybe if she is local (in the USA someone could buy the polishes she wants and pay the cost to ship them and she could get what she wants. I believe the USPS has a “if it fits it ships”program going on for $4.95 for the smallest box. Just a thought.

All these colors are gorgeous, but I find Milani bottles to be the ugliest (even worse than Nicole!) bottles on the market, so I refuse to buy them. That said, I like Hot Metal and Melt in the Sun. a lot. Maybe I’ll just swap for them and then decant them into prettier bottles!
I’m liking Metal Gear, it’s a color I haven’t seen to much of. I’m all for a sparkle orange, headed to DVS after work!
