Eyeko Nail Polish for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review

Haaaaayyyyy people!

So it’s Tuesday and the beginning of the work week for me. Yay for four day work weeks; why aren’t they ALL this way? :)

Eyeko Makeup has a new collection of nail colors for summer and I’ve got them for you today.

I have reviewed some of their polish in the past here and here and had issues with the thickness and streakiness of the formula. I am pleased to say that this collection was MUCH better. The newer bottle shape is loads better (though the original shape was cute) and the light colors here are better than the previous pastel colors.

Peep ‘em out below.

Petite Polish

Petite Polish is a super pale, almost nude ballerina pink. It’s extremely sheer even after three coats, so it’s not my favorite. But it would work well in a very conservative setting or if you just wanted a clean shiny look to your nails.

Tea Rose Polish

Tea Rose Polish is a dusty rose pink creme. This totally didn’t appeal to me in the bottle but I really liked it once it was on. I don’t think I have a single other pink close to this color. It reminds me of “days of yore”. Whatever that means. :) This was two coats.

Posh Polish

Posh Polish is a medium taupe creme. Yep, you knew they would have one because every single company nowadays seems to have a taupe! This one was nice, but not my favorite out of all the ones I have. I tend to like deeper ones and maybe even ones with a little sparkle to make them more unique. This was two coats.

Coral Polish

Coral Polish is a “coral” creme. This actually looks more like a tomato red with a hint of pink and coral on me than I would expect from the name. It’s nice though. This was two coats.

Vampira Polish

Vampira Polish is a black with tons of red glitter. This is the stunner in the bunch and doesn’t really “go” with the others, which is just fine by me! It’s ten million times more cool in person than this picture shows. This was three coats.

Overall I think this is a nice collection with a couple unique colors. The ones I would classify as unique to me are Tea Rose and Vampira. If you don’t already own a ton of taupes then Posh is a great one. I would say skip Petite unless you like SUPER sheer ones and Coral isn’t all that unique, if you have a lot of reds/oranges.

You can find these on Eyeko’s website now.

What do you guys think?

I think Eyeko has some cute polishes. I don’t own any yet. I like that they each have their own bottle design.

It looks like the bottle has changed slightly, since your last review. My fave is Tea Rose. So pretty!

Where can I get these polishes other then their website?? I like seeing my polishes before buying them.

      Hi JP,

Other than their site I really don’t know unless you live in the UK and are near some of their drug stores. I swatch the colors so that people don’t have to see them in person necessarily before they buy them. I hope what I do shows you what the color actually looks like on someone rather than just in the bottle.

I have all these but not got round to swatching them yet.
Tea Rose is lovely though. I have tried that one.

I just got Posh delivered today – spooky! I stupidly passed on Vampira as it didn’t look that special on the site I ordered from *facepalm*

Vampira is sweeeeet! Petite pink is calling to me for some reason. Looks nice & glossy. Tea Rose is pretty, but perhaps a little “grandma” to me? That kind of rosy pink can be tricky to get right with skin tone. They can end up looking like band-aids or pepto bismol….:-P

    Nice swatches!
I am working my way through these myself.
I just put on Posh today, and I like it a lot!
It’s my only taupe,I think this one has the perfect shade :)

I have also used Vampira, liked it as well, but I would love just a liiittle more glitter ;)
Can’t wait to get some color on me with the coral as well!
I also bought Indigo Polish, I thought it too was a part of this new collection?

This collection is cool. I know you are not so proud of for Posh Polish but it looks AWESOME on you. :)

I like how in the last one, the red glitter really stands out in all that black. I’ve seen lots with the same concept, but the glitter doesn’t shine through. It’s a sexy combination.

Just added Tea Rose Polish & Vampira to my list of polishes to get. To me, those are the colors that stand out. Good to hear that the polish applies easier than before.
