Happy Wednesday!

Ok today is yet another Sugarpill review. Sorry I don’t have any nails for you today, but I promise tomorrow’s post will be a GOOD one from Zoya

This review will be covering Sugarpill’s loose powder eyeshadows, also known as ChromaLust.

These little beauties come in 11 different vivid colors in little plastic jars. They are 5 grams and are measured by weight not volume. They are also all Vegan, in case that matters to you!

Good morning!

Today I have a very fun new makeup brand for you called Sugarpill Cosmetics. What makes this especially exciting for me is that they are local to the Bay Area!

Sugarpill is the creation of Amy, aka Shrinkle on eBay and Etsy. She started out with a fashion line called Shrinkle on eBay in 2003. To match her wild, colorful clothing line she began wearing theatrical makeup from the brand Kryolan. Soon she realized that starting her own line of cosmetics was the way to go, so Sugarpill was born in 2010.

Right now the brand offers pressed eyeshadow singles and quads, loose eyeshadows, and false eyelashes.

I first saw reviews of these products back in February when they launched and was VERY impressed with what I saw. I love that she’s in Oakland, and of course want to support a fellow Bay Area company; but obviously I have to like the product first, which happily I can say I definitely do!

First off the packaging of the quads is SO adorable. I am a total & complete sucker for cute packaging, and this definitely fits the bill. This is the outside box that the quads come in.

Hey everyone!

Been awhile since I have been able to post any polish so today I’ve got some fun new colors from American Apparel for summer 2010.

The formula on these is really, really great. They have their stuff down! All of these were only two coats for full opacity and one could have been just one coat. The lighter colors look like they will be a hot streaky mess, but they are actually very even. I was super impressed!

Summer Peach

Summer Peach is a light peachy/nude. This was the first of these collection that I swatched and I truly thought it was going to be horrible, but I was so wrong. Even with just one coat, it was very opaque and smooth. It’s not my favorite color on me personally, but could see the appeal on those with a different skin tone.

Hey world!

Sorry I haven’t been around, it’s been kind of crazy this past week.

On Thursday we were in the middle of having new carpet installed in the house when we got a phone call that a relative of Mr. VV’s was very sick, so we were worried of course. The carpet was installed from 9:30 am until 8:00 pm, then we had to get all the furniture moved back into the house and put the beds together. We were up util midnight doing that.

By Friday, which was also my birthday (and the most stressful one ever) things looked bad, so we had to get tickets for a flight to the south. We spent Saturday preparing to leave and getting as much of the house together as we could. The cats, especially Sammy, was totally freaked out by everything. Sammy was VERY upset because we got all new bedroom furniture and completely re-arranged the way it was set up. He used to sleep on top of our armoire, that was HIS spot, and we gave it away. So the first 2 nights he woke us up at 3:00 am crying and looking around for his spot. We do have a friend staying at the house with them though and he seems to be fine now.

On Sunday we got up at 3:30 am and flew out to Alabama. Things have improved greatly with Mr. VV’s relative since we got here, so it’s very good news and we can relax a little. Have I mentioned it’s HOTTER THAN HELL here? Oh yes, I know it’s only been summer for 3 days, but it’s already one of the hottest ones here. It’s been about 97-100 every day with massive humidity. The heat index has been 100-105. And the bugs. Ick

Hump day!

After today we are more than halfway through the week, yay! Actually I am off work the rest of this week because of A. Carpet installation Thursday (aka Hell Day) and B. My bday Friday (aka Fun Day).

Aaaaaannnnnyyywaaaayyyy, I have some colors I think 99.9% of earth has already seen at this point, but hey, I have ‘em, why not show ‘em?

These are some new (ish) Sally Hansen’s from the Salon Manicure line. I believe these are classified as a summer collection. Either way I’M classifying them that way because they came out in time for summer.

Without further adieu, here goes.

Silver Lining

Silver Lining is a light silver with multi-colored shimmer. I dunno, my socks weren’t knocked off here. It was a little too sheer and didn’t wow me as much on the nail as it did in the bottle. This was three coats.
