Chanel Le Vernis Illusion D’or Swatches & Review
Good morning!
Many of you have probably seen this a bazillion times already, but I sill wanted to show it. It’s Chanel’s new nail color called Illusion D’or, which just came out for summer. A lot of swatches I have seen were done over black so I decided to show it over something a little more interesting…greens!
Peep it.
Illusion D’or is a gold glittery color with iridescent gold and purple flake glitter. This is a color I kind of went back and forth on purchasing because I knew I would never wear it on it’s own. Kinda boring I think. BUT over other colors it looks spectacular! This was three coats.

Illusion D’or over RBL No More War (pointer & middle) and RBL Orbis Non Sufficit (ring & pinkie)
Soo how amazing it looks over green colors? I absolutely love it over both of these it just looks so sparkly and spectacular!

Have you been lured into getting this color yet despite the $25.00 cost? I was, and I am glad I did. I have to say I am not one who thinks Chanel is the greatest polish, and I definitely don’t run out and buy every one that comes out. But every now and then one catches my eye and this was one of those.
You can find this online where ever they sell Chanel Les Vernis.

The more I see this Chanel top coat the more I don’t thinks its worth $25? It is pretty, but not $25 pretty?
I like it over Orbis but, as Jackie S says, not $25 worth of liking….

I’ll pass on this one – I am rarely compelled to buy glitters or interesting topcoats, and a $25 price tag doesn’t do much to convince me!!!
When I win the jackpot in the lotery I will definately buy this, until then I own plenty beautiful glitters for layering, I don’t think it’s beautiful enough to spend that much money on it. But it does look pretty.

I don’t care for Chanel but I love Orbis Non Sufficit! Its such a gorgeous dark green. =)
I love it over the green, but I agree with the others. I can’t justify spending that much for a nail polish
It does look nice over the greens, but I’m still unsure about how I feel about flake glitter (despite owning a couple). Think I’ll pass. I’d actually like to see it in person to see how sparkly it is.
I have been having fun with this polish. The Shanghai collection is general has been interesting to play with.
I love this over green too! This is a polish that is truly better in person, it’s so multi-dimensional.
Meh, it’s alright, but I wouldn’t pay even $10 for it.

This is the first Chanel polish I’ve ever purchased. I thought it would be great for pumping up a tired mani. Over RBL “Opaque Nude” my tips looked like champagne. I have it now over Zoya “Zara” and love it. I can’t wait to try it over the four Zoya Reviere polishes that have a gold shimmer. They’re beautiful on their own, but Illusion d’Or adds just enough to change it up. I love the fact that this polish is not gritty like other glitter polishes. I’m happy I got it.
Have to agree with the others – pretty but not worth $25.
No, I don’t think this one looks classy and expensive enough to spend $25 on it. It looks like any glitter polish you can get in the cheapy bin. Particulière, on the other hand…

It’s okay in my book. Totally not worth it to be just “okay.” Buy one of those RBLs instead I say!
