BB Couture Ladybug Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review
Happy April Fools Day!
Remember the other day when I posted a fabulous new spring collection from BB Couture? Well I have another new one from them today! Don’t they rock? They just keep ‘em coming.
This is called the Ladybug collection and it’s also six new colors.
Ladybug is filled with mostly fairly sheer colors. I used three coats for all of these except one, and probably could have used 4 on some! That’s my only problem with the formula, otherwise they applied very nicely.
Take a looksee…
Daisy Dweller is a warm sunny yellow with gold and silver shimmer. For my skin tone this does not work at all, it’s just too warm. But I still really like it and wish it was a color I could wear. This was three coats and you can still see a slight VNL.
Ode To A Ladybug is a cheerful poppy red with gold shimmer and a pink flash. This is totally gorgeous and wound up being my favorite. I think it may have edged out some of the others because it was so opaque. This was two coats.
Signs Of Spring is a sky blue with green and pink shimmer. I really like this one and the shimmer makes it a unique blue compared to other blues I have by them or other companies. This was a little more opaque than most others, except Ode To A Ladybug, so after three coats you can’t really see the VNL as much.
Love Bug is a pale pink with gold and silver shimmer. This is VERY sheer and is three coats. Wishing it was more opaque! I don’t know why this pic is so far away compared to the others, sorry!
Beetle Bailey is a dusty mauve with very subtle pink shimmer. You can’t really see it here, but it is there. This was my least favorite of the bunch. The color did nothing for me and I had some cuticle drag. This was three coats.
Man Bug is a sea-foam green with gold and silver shimmer. I wore this the other day and every time I looked down I kept thinking “If only this was deeper!”. Again with the sheerness after three coats. I think it would have been my favorite if it was more opaque.
Overall I think this is a good collection if you don’t mind sheer, light colors. For me personally I didn’t love them all. I much prefer super saturated colors like the ones in the Butterfly collection.
You can find this collection on Overall Beauty here and they are $9.00 each or $52.00 for all six.
How do you guys like this compared to the Butterfly collection?

Ooh I like all of these, and that’s a first for a green-type colour I think!

Ooh! I love these! I wonder what Man Bug would look like with a coat of white underneath.
I love them. I don’t mind VNL. I love them all. But my next BB order is supposed to be cremes. Hm.
So beautiful and spring-y! BB definitely comes out with the best colors! I’m liking the blue & the pale pink. My “Skipper” & “Caterpillar” arrived last night. OMG, they are both so gorgeous. If anyone is on the fence about “Caterpillar,” get it!! It’s awesome.
Oh! I’m loving Signs Of Spring. I might have to pick that one up.

Why oh why can’t man bug be more opaque?? I would seriously be in love with it if it was! Signs of Spring and Ode to Ladybug look cute though.
Under normal circumstances, I do not wear yellow. I am FAIR and have dark blondish-strawberry blonde hair. However, I love the yellow color in this collection.
Manbug is so cute, but too sheer for me to buy it. Wish it had more substance because I love the shimmery colour.
hmm…definitely too sheer for my taste!
