Hidey ho, it’s Thursday!

Orly has a new spring collection out for 2010 called Sweet. This collection is an homage to days gone by, reminiscent of Jackie O’s pillbox hats. Each of these polishes come with a mini lip gloss in a matching color and flavor.

These colors are creme pastels, but they are not the chalky kind. The formula on these vary a bit. One was thick and streaky but the rest were pretty nice.

I know some of you are sick of pastel colors, but I happen to love them. These make me want spring here ASAP! Check them out!

Lemonade is a cool lemon yellow. This reminds me of my brother’s old 1969 Camero. The color was the original yellow from back in the day and this is very similar. This was the problem child though in terms of application. It was thick and streaky and a bit hard to get even. I wish I knew why all yellows were like this! I love that it’s a cool yellow, because I can’t do the warm ones. This was three coats.

Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy is a light pink. Sorry this is a bad picture because the sun had gone by the time I took it, so it looks darker than it really is. This was fairly light going on so I used three coats. Nice and smooth application though.

Lollipop is a lavender creme. This has a lot of pink in it and it’s one of the nicest lavender pastels I’ve used. This was very opaque and I could almost have gotten away with one coat, but I used two.

Pixy Stix

Pixy Stix is a medium pink creme. The formula on this was spectacular! I don’t know why but it was like butter. I didn’t think this would be one of my favorite ones by just looking at the bottle, but when it was on, it was very pretty. This was three coats for maximum coverage.

Gumdrop is a turquoise creme. This isn’t mint green, so I’m not going to compare it to all the mints out there. This is a blue/green. It’s totally gorgeous. Application was great on this and super opaque. This was two coats.

Snowcone is a cornflower blue. This is my favorite. I happen to L.O.V.E. the color cornflower blue on everything, clothes, polish, paint, etc., so this was easy for me to love. This was very opaque also in almost one coat, but I used two.

Here are the little cute lip glosses that go with each polish. They hang on a little string around the neck of the bottle. Cute right? I haven’t tried them yet, but suspect they are probably pretty sheer.

Overall I am VERY happy with this collection. There isn’t one that I don’t like a lot. I think after China Glaze’s Up & Away, this is my second favorite spring collection I have seen yet!

This collection will be available in the beginning of April and they will sell for $7.50 each.

Ok Internet, do you like these? How do you feel about pastels?
