Nicole by OPI Spring 2010 Nail Polish Swatches & Review
Hallo mates!
Nicole by OPI has some new colors out for spring that I recently found at Walmart. They were on a stand that said “Walmart exclusives” so I’m not sure if these are only available there or what.
I have always had really great luck with the formula on these babies. They are super duper creamy and smooth, and usually pretty opaque in two coats. Peep ‘em!
Wink Of Twink
Wink Of Twink is a silver with holo glitter. I would say this is a medium holo,meaning not as holographic as say the China Glaze OMG collection, but more holographic than some others I have seen. This was three coats.
Wild Blue Yonder
Wild Blue Yonder is a bright shimmery blue. This pic makes it look a little more washed out than it really is. It’s a wee bit darker and richer in real life. Sorry none of my pics turned out that great of this one. This was two coats.
Give Me A Spring Break
Give Me A Spring Break is a gorgeous jewel toned purple that has tons of blue and pink shimmer. This is really pretty, but I think I have one or two others that look pretty much the same. This was two coats.
Gone Wishin’
Gone Wishin’ is purple and blue glitter suspended in clear polish. We have seen a lot of these lately with Illamasqua, Sinful Colors and Sephora by OPI. I plan on doing a side by side comparison of them all. I can say though that the only dupe out of those for this is the Sinful Colors one (I am blanking on the name right now). This was three coats.
Gone Wishin’ Zoom
I think these kinds of glitters always look best over a deep purple, blue or black polish.
You can find these at Walmart and I think they were about $7.00 each.

Yes Frenzy, thanks! I swatched them both and there is no difference at all.
I also have a Borghese from the holiday mini collection that looks similar, but the glitter is more magenta than purple. Do they sell these exclusives on their website?

Not they aren’t available on the website, only in stores.
Yeah…. anytime Wal-Mart says that something is exclusive to them, it’s always sold only at Wal-Mart. I was there last week myself and I found an endcap display with those colors and many more (although it seems that many of the colors were gone because others snatched them up). I also found some of the newest colors of a yellow, a lime, and an orange in my Wal-Mart’s Nicole regular lineup. But anyway, I could always use another holo in my life, and the Wink of Twink sounds perfect for me. The rest, I could take or leave. And that purple kind of reminds me of a darker version of Sally Hansen HD Cyber.

Yeah I saw a bunch of empty spots in the endcap also, so I think I am missing some. And there were a couple others I saw that didn’t appeal to me, so I didn’t buy them.
Nicole by OPI has many colours, and glitters i want! But..
I can’t find any online shop that ship these polishes abroad. Do you know any?

wow…under that glitter your nails do not look stained at all. My nails are stained really bad. What is your secret?

They aren’t stained, I don’t have that issue, not sure why! I don’t know if it’s because I always wear a base coat or what. I use Nubar’s Foundation base coat.
I love Gone Wishin’. I picked it up over my college winter break. I have not tried any of the others that look like it. I can not wait for a comparison swatch.
Give me a spring break is also great. What are the other colors that you have that look like this?

What does “Give Me A Spring Break” compare to Nars “Purple Rain” ?
“Gone Wishin’” ..also looks like Pure Ice “Cheatin”…I think the glitter may be a different size but the colors are the same.
Agh, I love your new banner! I like Give Me a Spring Break, but god OPI please think of some better names for these. I’m not sure if it’s my color though.

I second Jackie – I wonder how “Give Me A Spring Break” compares to “Purple Rain”. Both look a jewel tone purple with blue/red sparkle.

It’s nothing like Purple Rain. That’s a much darker more royal purple color and the shimmer is way different. If you look at my pics of both you will see they are totally different.
I just got Wink of Twink today and I love the nice subtle holo. I wanted Give Me a Spring Break but it was out of stock so I subbed Pure Ice Rio which is not exact but similar–purple with red and blue glitter. I agree that Gone Wishin’ looks very close to Pure Ice Cheatin’. It’s a third of the price too.
None of these are wowing me. (Although your swatches are perfect as always!) Sure, they colours are all pretty enough, but now that my collection is substantial, I’m trying to only buy colours that are more unique…unless of course it’s a purple or green.
You can never have too many of those.

Okay I was wrong. Pure Ice Rio is not like Give Me A Spring Break at all once out of the bottle. It is more sheer and much more pink. This makes me want GMASB even more or NARS Purple Rain (!)…I think it might still look good over black or a deeper purple.
Gone Wishin’ looks just like Sinful Frenzy. Love Wink of Twink though!

I have never had any luck with glitter nail polish, it seems to chip away to easy. Maybe I have bought a bad brand, but it simply wont stay on my nails.
