China Glaze Poolside Collection Summer 2010 Swatches & Review
Good morning!
China Glaze has a great new collection for summer 2010 called Poolside. It’s made up of six new neon colors.
As you probably know, neons are very hard to capture correctly on camera and so these are actually a lot brighter than they appear here!
The formula on these was decent, not great. They were all three coats and I could have used four on one or two to get them slightly more even. Also you will notice that they have a matte finish, which is typical of neons before you add a top coat.

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
Yellow Polka Dot Bikini is a bright highlighter yellow. This is SO much brighter than this picture depicts, it’s really blinding in the sun! This is one that I could have used another coat on, but I already did three. You can still faintly see the VNL here.
Sun Worshipper
Sun Worshipper is an insanely bright orange creme. REALLY bright! What I like about this one is I don’t have another neon that looks like this at all, so I think this was the most unique one of the bunch.
Flip Flop Fantasy
Flip Flop Fantasy is a pink/coral color that is surprisingly wearable. It is really bright, but I think less “crazy” than most of the others.
Kiwi Cool-Ada
Kiwi Cool-Ada is a screaming bright neon green. I really wish the neon would translate to these pics! This was three coats but I feel four would have been slightly better.
Pool Party
Pool Party is a bright flamingo pink. I like this one a lot and think it would make an exceptional pedicure color for summer.
Towel Boy Toy
Towel Boy Toy is a bright sky blue with slight shimmer. This isn’t really neon to me, it is definitely bright though. This was my favorite of the bunch actually and I feel the best application. No streaks at all and no VNL after even two coats. But I used three here.
Overall I think this is a really great summer collection. There are a few colors here that you probably haven’t seen in other neon collections of the past, so that’s always a good thing.
I believe this collection is due to come out in February or March, but I don’t have the exact date yet.

Gorgeous colors. Not a neon wearing gal, but I do love Towel Boy Toy. Have you seen the Milani Neon collection? I went by my CVS last night to pick up the 3D holo’s and they were on display. Again I love looking at the bright colors.
I have my neon Color club´s on way and definitely planing get few of China´s. Definitely pool party and sun worshiper and I ´d prefer them with top coat. Thanks for swatches.

I don’t know how I feel about these. I’m not in springy/summer mood yet. I LOVE the Towel Boy Toy of course, but I don’t know about the others (yet). LOL

Not keen on neons and positively HATE mattes so these are a big FAIL for me.

All neons are matte without a top coat. Do you normally not wear a top coat?

I think you did a pretty good job capturing this. I just can’t pull of neons, but I still would like to take a closer look on Towel Boy Toy and Kiwi Colada. The launch is April 21st, internationally.

Somehow neon colors frequently seem to lack the richness that I like in a polish. I expected all of these to be a pass for me, but looking at the swatches is making me think I might pick up Flip Flop Fantasy and Towel Boy Toy.
Definitely considering snagging the orange and maybe one of the pinks… I’ll pass on the yellow cos I already have Essie’s funky limelight and it’s a pain in the backside… it needs two coats of white under it, otherwise 8 coats later it’s STILL not fully opaque haha…
I think the brights I picked up from up and away will be bright enough for me, although if I had a beach vacation planned, I might be tempted to pick up that orange. These are really pretty, but they just aren’t the kinds of colors I’d wear in every day life.
Wow, they all bring me back to the 80′s. I only like the Flip flop fantasy & Towel boy toy.

Yikes! I think these are retina-searing even for *my* eyes, but not yet full-on neon. Still, I think that’s my kind of color group. I *love* all six of them, but I feel that the bright orange might just be too warm for me. So with the exception of that one, I’m definitely going for it.

Your pics are great & the gallery view is so nice to see the whole collection. I like Sun Worshipper the best. It seems the most unique to me. I don’t do the neon thing, though, so I’ll be skipping these.
Does anyone know if Sun Worshippper is anything like Color CLub’s Explosive?

I love these neons. I can just see these colors with matching flip flops at the poolside, LOL and sipping your favorite drink along with it. Amazing colors! Love the gallery view with all six shades. These come out when in February or March 2010?

Sun Worshipper looks interesting, and I don’t have anything like it. Funny, but I used to hate neons. Then, I think, 2 years ago, I tried wearing one, and changed my tune. You really can’t stop looking at your nails when you wear neon, and other people also can’t help but notice you from a mile away. Very fun at any time of the year. I actually like wearing them in the winter to cheer myself up.

I really like this collection. I think is has some colors that are definitely unique. I will probably end up getting the whole entire collection. I would have liked to see them swatched with a top coat to see them non matte though.
