MAC Light Affair Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review
MAC recently came out with a collection called Love Lace, and Light Affair was the nail polish from this collection.
The formula wasn’t as thick and awful as I had expected it to be. I say that because normally their light creme colors are really thick and apply unevenly. This actually applied pretty nicely, and I only needed two coats. I can’t speak as to how long it wears though because I only swatched it. Check it out.
Light Affair is a pale grey/taupe creme. I saw swatches of this on other sites and thought it looked fantastic. However once I saw it on my skin, I didn’t love it as much on myself as I did on those with darker skin. It kind of blends in a little too much for me. I mean I like it, but I don’t love it, you know what I mean?
This is available on MAC’s site here, and it retails for $11.00.
Do you guys like these kinds of colors for your skintone?

This may be a little too light for me, though I am digging all the new nudes and light shades coming up!
Hi Evie,
Yeah I like a lot of the nudeas also, but more of the “mushroomy” looking ones”
i wasn’t planning on getting LA but it is nice. I just got Sally Hansen – Lavender Cloud and am dying to wear it!

I love this colour but I didn’t buy it because I hate MAC polish. I hate the bottle shape, I find the brush is hard to hold and the formula is usually terrible. This looks so great on people but I’ve returned too many MAC polishes in the past so I just don’t bother buying them anymore.
Hi Alisa,
Yeah I have heard that a lot in the past and do agree on some of the colors about the formula!
I feel the exact same way you do about the formula and shade on my skin. I definitely think this would like nicer on darker tones.
I’ve been wearing it for a few days now and still no chips!
Hi Lilian,
Well it’s good that no chips so far on you! I saw it on Karen from MBB and it looked really good with her skin tone.
It’s pretty but it feels like it’s too soon to be wearing such light colors. Well, I am wearing Essie’s Marshmallow today so clearly I am a walking contradiction

There have been a bunch of MAC polishes that I’ve really liked the colours of recently, but I can’t bring myself to buy them because all of the other MAC ones that I have chip on me pretty much right away. It’s a shame!
I do really like how this looks on you though.

I always like these colors in the bottle, but then I apply them and I feel like a corpse. I have this issue with Essie “Ballet Slippers.” Pretty to look at, but not so appealing on my hand. Maybe best with a good summer tan?
I think it looks nice on you! I’ve been debating this color for a while, need to see it in person again before I take the plunge.
Also, MAC’s polishes are now $12, unfortunately. They raised their prices last fall.
I tried this nail polish on in a MAC store and it’s still haunting me!! LOL Now I see it on your blog and I want it more. I think it’s sold out on MAC Cosmetics.com–maybe I’ll have to give up? Thanks for the lovely pics….

I adore Light Affair.
I am NC15 and I just love how it looks.
The application was nice with mine as well but I wish the brush would be better.

hm I’m not sure if I like this shade. it reminds me of calamine lotion.
I’m intreigued but for $11 I don’t HAVE to have it.
