Barielle Wildflower Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review
Mornin’!
Barielle has come out with a very interesting collection for spring 2010 called Wildflower. It’s six colors in a range of finishes, which is kinda cool. There are two glitter ones that are particularly unique!
The formula on these was kind of all over the map for me. Some were great, one was a nightmare and others were good.
Anyway, check this collection out!
Blossom is a pale peach creme. This one gave me serious issues. This polish was so thick I had a very hard time getting it even. I waited about 90 seconds in-between coats, but whenever I put down the next coat it would get even thicker and harder to manage. After three coats it was basically even but you can see towards the tips (mostly on pointer and pinkie) that it’s quite thick and “gloopy”. I was really irked about this because I love the color itself.
June Bug is a slate blue with a little shimmer and small fuchsia glitter. This is a color to write home about! I LOVE it, it’s sooooo unique and cute and I am wearing it as I type this. More companies need to be putting out colors like this, they are just so great. I love polishes that have 1 color of glitter in them, rather than a rainbow, it makes them more special to me. The formula on this one was great, it applied smooth and even in just two coats. If you can only get one from this collection, this is the one I would suggest!
Daring Dahlia is a fuchsia with very subtle shimmer. In fact the shimmer is so subtle you can’t see it at all in my pics. It basically looks creme in my eyes. Not a huge fan of this color, it’s a little boring to me, but it’s still pretty. The formula was decent, this was three coats.
A Bouquet For Ava is described as a caribbean blue creme and I would say that’s pretty accurate. This is a very nice blue and I like it a lot, but don’t really think it’s completely unique. The formula was good on this and I used two coats.
Snapdragon is a metallic sea foam green. I feel the need to say that I am not a huge fan of frosted metallics. They just don’t do a lot for me, so this one wasn’t my favorite, but I don’t have anything else like it. Also you can see it was streaky, which is par for the course with most metallics. This was two coats.
WHY do my fingers look so wrinkly here, they do NOT look like that normally!? Anyway, Myrza’s Meadow is a lime green (but not obnoxiously bright) packed with small multi-colored glitter. This is most definitely unique and cool and my second favorite of this collection. If you can only get two from this collection this would be my second choice. The formula was fine with this, I used two coats.
Overall I would give this collection a 7 out of 10. I only really loved three of the colors (Blossom, June Bug and Myrza’s Meadow), but the application on Blossom makes me sad. The one great thing about this is that all the colors are very different and you do get a wide range of finishes, if you got them all.
These should be available soon on Barielle’s website here and they retail for $8.00 each. If you buy two you get one free though! Oh and strangely, Daring Dahlia is already on there for sale, but none of the others are yet.
So what are you guys digging from this collection?

June Bug! Holla! Loves it!
Barielle makes the oddest looking glitter polish on the market. It always seems like the base and the glitter are fighting for attention, they don’t play nicely together.
My nails aren’t crying to be polished by the remaining shades either. I’ll have to pass on this collection. Looking forward to seeing Essie’s upcoming collection though!
I like A Bouquet For Ava, but the others not so much!
I also agree with Kristina on the glitter, they look so weird..

June Bug is amazing! I’ll have to add that to my wish list…
My Falling Star just arrived. I haven’t tried it yet. That’s for tomorrow. So JuneBug is a MUST for me. As for the Meadow? I’m considering getting Kelly’s Green by BB Couture (I know it’s not a dupe) so if I only got one – KG or Meadow – which one do you recommend and why? (If you don’t mind answering. And bearing in mind that you invented KG, obviously!)
Hi Jen,
It just depends on your preferences both in the color green and glitter choices. KG is avocado green and doesn’t have a lot of colorful glitter, it’s mostly black flecks and grey. Meadow is more lime green and has colorful glitter.
I do like the June Bug, but don’t think I would wear it enough to justify the purchase. The rest are bleh for me. Saves me some money!
I am not feeling these creams with the funny glitter in them. I personally think that they are clashing together! I am not quite fond of glitter or chrome nail polish to begin with and well when I do wear them, they are usually REALLY glittery. These look like someone trying to create their own frankenstein colour lol… Not for me.
The other creamy colours are great.
I also agree, LOVE the new Essie collection!
This is the prettiest spring collection. Myrza’s Meadow and Blossom are amazing! I REALLY want those 2.

I loved all the 6 colors, but my favorite is Blosson. If it was easier to pass would be perfect, since you said you had problems with it.
I like them all bar snapdragon – I’m not a fan of coloured metallics either….
I love the contrasting glitter in Junebug! Reminds me of Falling Star, which I still need. Myrza’s Meadow and BBC’s Kelly’s Green are both on my must have list. Blossom is gorgeous; would a dose of thinner work here?

Meh, I don’t like any of them. Pass.

Really like June Bug. I know it is red glitter, but when I first glanced at it, it totally reminded me of a Robin’s egg….how springy!!!
June Bug is going on my list of colors to buy when I am able to. Such a unique color!

I want to like Myrza’s Meadow, but I just can’t. The only good one in this collection to me is June Bug. The rest are meh, and Myrza I just can’t love. :/
I think I’m going to get June Bug and Myzra’s meadow when they are available. They will be my first barielle polishes! you hit the nail on the head…I love them precisely because they are so unique.
I am really loving A Bouquet For Ava!
Scrangie says that Daring Dahlia dries matte. Was that your experience?
Hi Kelsey,
It wasn’t completely matte, but definitely not as shiny as the others. I didn’t notice any shimmer in mine either, except in the bottle. It was really subtle.
I’m confused about something. The press release for this collection listed the fuchsia shade as “Darling Dahlia – a deep fuchsia with a hint of silver metallic.”
However, there is a shade being sold on the Barielle website now called “Daring Dahlia” (notice the missing “L”) that looks similar and has a similar description; “deep fuchsia with shimmer.”
Are these the same shade? And if so, why sell only one of the shades from the Wildflower collection on the site now, and hold the rest back for later?
Hi Kelsey,
Ahhh interesting, I didn’t notice that! Let me contact them and see if I can find out!
