1. How has your week been so far? Off to a very slow (and sleep deprived) start, but the good news is there are only a couple days left until I am off work until Jan 4th!

3. What’s on your nails? It’s a secret that I cannot reveal just yet. But it’s gonna be a BIG ONE, and I am super excited about it!!!
4. What is your favorite holiday dish? Hmm, this may sound totally conceited but I am a huge fan of my appetizers. My fav is my Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms. Seriously, they are soooo good.
5. Would you rather go without any makeup on your face for an year OR shave your head bald for a year? A better question might be, why do I ask these questions? No really, I think I would rather shave my head. One can be beautiful with a bald head but we could all use a little makeup!
6. Are you going (or have you been) to any fabulous holiday parties? Do tell! Sadly no. I don’t have any friends who have holiday parties (or if they do they never invite me) and I skipped the company one this year, as I do most years.

8. If you have pets, do you get them Christmas gifts? Usually we do give them stuff. Chase will get a nice set of soft chewy bones (he hates rawhide) and the kitties will get some new mice toys or balls. This year Chewy specifically asked for a new cat pole because their current one is thrashed. We’ll see…
9. When is the last time you swam in the ocean? Hawaii, 2 1/2 years ago on my honeymoon. It makes me sad that it’s been that long, I love warm oceans! The ocean around here is useless to me, if you can’t swim in it, why bother?
10. Any hot weekend plans? If hot includes swatching like a maniac while the sun is out to make up for lost time, then yes.

I took French for a very brief period in high school and college. I hated my high school French teacher so I quit half-way through. Then in college I didn’t last 2 weeks before I dropped it. It was one of those classes where they force you to say every single thing in French and I just don’t learn well that way! I still wish I spoke it though!
1. How has your week been so far? It has been BUSY it is the week before Chrimstas breakt at my school!

4. What is your favorite holiday dish? One of my aunts makes this fabulous artichoke dip that is DIVINE. She had better be coming to our Christmas gathering with her dip.

8. If you have pets, do you get them Christmas gifts? Yes, my dog usually gets a toy and my parents and bf’s parents usually get the “granddog” a gift or a sweater. haha. It’s cold where I live and I have an Italian Greyhound, so he always needs warm sweaters for the winter.
9. When is the last time you swam in the ocean? Too long ago!! Goodness, I want to say it has been since I was in Hawaii for work in 2006, that is pathetic!
10. Any hot weekend plans? Maybe getting together with the bf’s family for his birthday (which is Christmas Eve) because we’re driving to Florida on the 23rd to see my family. I have Friday off, woop!

1. How has your week been so far? Normal and uneventful. Just work and home. Not bad though. I am itching for vacation so bad!
2. What language(s) do you speak? English. Polish was my first language, but I am not that great at it anymore. Although I took 3 Polish classes in college and was able to learn to read it which I never knew! And I took Spanish for 5 years, but I don’t think much of that would get me far in a Spanish-speaking place!
3. What’s on your nails? OOOh I wish I could show a pic! It’s RBL-No More War and a half moon, matte finish. Like, the half moon is shiny and the rest is matte. AWESOME!!!
4. What is your favorite holiday dish? Anything sweet! Desserts please!!! And one time me and my mom made these cute meatball appetizers I have been dreaming about. They were sweet and drenched in an nontraditional sauce that was part cocktail sauce and we used pretzel sticks for the toothpicks. I really don’t remember the recipe at all, I just know I want them again! And I like pigs in a blanket!
5. Would you rather go without any makeup on your face for an year OR shave your head bald for a year? I think i would go makeupless. I have thought it would be nice sometimes to be bald for the sake of not having to do my hair, but I don’t think I would look good bald! I don’t wear a ton of makeup anyway so I could deal.
6. Are you going (or have you been) to any fabulous holiday parties? Do tell! Nope! We had a Christmas lunch party for work at a nice restaurant and it was very very good food and that was nice. I will be doing a lot of going out when I visit my home town for Xmas, but I don’t have any official parties planned yet!

I am a HUUUUGGGEEEEE fan of blue diamonds! I saw one on a lady once like 8 years ago at a work conference. I was with my then manager, who is a gem fanatic, and we sat down next to this woman. My manager practically grabbed the woman’s hand to look at her engagement ring, which was a 1 carat blue diamond with white diamonds around it. I almost passed out it was so pretty! That’s when I decided it was my lifelong dream to own one

Congrats in finishing college!! I so remember that great sense of relief and accomplishment. The only thing for me was, I walked and everything but then had to go back 6 months later to finish one last English class that was only offered once a year. That sucked so much because I felt SO done!
1. How has your week been so far? Pretty fantastic. I took Monday off to meet Neil Gaiman, my favorite living author. As I expected, he is remarkably nice, and what he said to me left me totally flustered and speechless. I’m still floating on that cloud.
2. What language(s) do you speak? Only English fluently. I can have very slow conversations in French and German.
3. What’s on your nails? Sephora by OPI Metro Chic on my fingers, Zoya Jo on my toes.
4. What is your favorite holiday dish? My homemade herb stuffing. It’s what Stove Top wishes it could be. Oooh, and apple pie.

I wish I could speak French and Russian too (since it wouldn’t be all that difficult for me, Slavic language and all)

Wow you speak a lot of languages, I’m jealous! I am always so impressed how so many Europeans who read my blog speak all these other languages so well and us in America just don’t, for the most part. I wish they forced us to take more “exotic” languages in school! When I was an English major in college I did have to take a year of a foreign language to graduate. Kind of strange. I took Spanish only because I had Spanish in 6th grade, 8th grade and high school, and I wanted something “easy”. Now I wish I had taken German or Italian instead!

1. How has your week been so far? Horrible. I had three finals this week and I’m freaking out that I might have failed a class because I messed up on the Final.
2. What language(s) do you speak? Besides English: My major is Japanese so I can speak that, not fluently but I get by. I also took a semester of French and more recently Chinese. I don’t remember much of French but because I just finished Chinese I can say a few things in that language.
3. What’s on your nails? OPI Russian Navy. One of my first nail polishes, the one I had before I fell in love with nail polish.
4. What is your favorite holiday dish? My aunt makes really delicious Banana Yams. Very yummy and sweet.

9. When is the last time you swam in the ocean? I grew up near the beach but the Ocean freaked me out. Animals, the waves, so I rarely went in. But the last time was…. 4 years I ago I believe. At a beach in Costa Rica. There were no waves, so I wasn’t so scared to go in.

1. How has your week been so far? Busy. Busy. Busy. Did I mention Busy? I shouldn’t be sitting here answering this, but I need a break and I have half a mug of the world’s greatest coffee left (Thunderbolt from Rio Grande Roasters) that I am not going to let go to waste.
2. What language(s) do you speak? Um, how well? I only speak my native English fluently. I speak enough French to have basic conversations; I read it a lot better than I speak it. I have enough Italian and Spanish to read menus and signs and ask “where’s the bathroom” and understand the answer. I know enough Japanese to start a bar fight.
3. What’s on your nails? China Glaze Emerald Sparkle. Love, love, love. This is one of the few polishes that has not only lived up to its online hype, but far surpassed it. Incredible. Unbelievable. I’m going to be sorry to take it off.
4. What is your favorite holiday dish? Stuffing, with Christmas Cookies a very close second.
5. Would you rather go without any makeup on your face for an year OR shave your head bald for a year? I wouldn’t rather do either, actually. I’d probably do without the make up because I get cold easily, and hair is an insulator.
6. Are you going (or have you been) to any fabulous holiday parties? Do tell! We don’t do fabulous…we do fun
. And I was at a really fun one last Saturday – good food, good conversation, good people, very relaxed and friendly.
7. Diamonds or pearls (or something else)? Both. I can’t do without either. Even though I love my colored stones (I have a tanzanite in my wedding set instead of a diamond!), diamonds and pearls are the classics and go everywhere.
8. If you have pets, do you get them Christmas gifts? We have three cats. The wrappings from our presents are their gifts – they have such fun chewing the ribbons and pouncing the paper. Sometimes we get them new fur mice to play with.

10. Any hot weekend plans? Not really. Lots of little stuff like finish decorating the house and wrapping gifts (and perhaps obtaining gifts depending on how today’s shopping goes). 1. How has your week been so far? Draining, I’m in the midst of finals (I’ve got to type this last essay and turn it in and then I’m freeeeeeeee!)
2. What language(s) do you speak? English & semi-fluent French. I can speak French slowly with a great accent (my teachers always commented on my accent) but I write it okay (the verb tenses kill me everytime) and I read elementary books still. I love Arsene Lupin though! I do know a few words in German (I was born in West Germany and my ancestry is mainly German, so I do know a few words).
3. What’s on your nails? OPI Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not on my toes, nothing on my nails. My hands weren’t cooperating last night for me to do my nails.
4. What is your favorite holiday dish? Traditional Spritz Cookies. Nothing comes between me and the family secret German Spritz Cookie recipe. I love baking AND eating them!
5. Would you rather go without any makeup on your face for an year OR shave your head bald for a year? Neither, ha ha ha! I like my hair and my make-up, thank you very much.
6. Are you going (or have you been) to any fabulous holiday parties? Do tell! Nope, just to Grandma’s (as per usual) on Christmas Eve to open presents. I told you, we’re very European!
7. Diamonds or pearls (or something else)? Amethysts, Sapphires or Emeralds. They are my three favorite colors.
8. If you have pets, do you get them Christmas gifts? Oh yes, Zena always gets new squeaker toys. For her birthday, she’s getting a custom-made fleece peacoat from etsy!
9. When is the last time you swam in the ocean? Freshman year of high school when I went to Florida with my choir. That was March 2004. It was a lot warmer there than it was where I live (still is, actually).
10. Any hot weekend plans? I’ve got three words for you: Napping with Zena. I will be pooped after all these finals. I’m tired now!!!!!!!

1. How has your week been so far? A little slow, but I’ve heard back from a school district that I submitted an application to.
2. What language(s) do you speak? English. I used to speak Italian often was I was little but I’ve forgotten it all

1. How has your week been so far?–Okay, I suppose. I’ve got trial in a week, but the tendinitis in my wrist is subsiding enough for me to type, so that’s a good thing.
