RGB Minty for Holiday ’09 Swatches and Review

Buenas dias! (Good morning in Spanish).

Today I have a new mint green polish from RGB for holiday ’09.

I have reviewed a few RGB colors in the past and liked them. I did have some issues with some of the red’s being a little watery, but am definitely willing to check out other colors. This one is a beaut! Check it out.

RGB Minty
Minty

Minty is a mint green creme. This doesn’t have a ton of blue in it, and is a true mint green in my eyes. The formula was really nice and not streaky as I had expcted. It’s not chalky and doesn’t come off as pastel looking. I really like it, it’s probably my fav mint green color now! It was on the thick side, but not hard to work with. It was totally opaque in just two coats.

I put a pic below of another color that you might think is similar, but really isn’t. Essie’s Mint Candy Apple is much more blue by comparison, and lighter. I think it’s most similar to MAC Peppermint Patti (I have a pic but refuse to show it because it’s so god-awful), but the formula is SO much better, and it’s actually available.

Check out my other RGB swatches here.

You will be able to find this color on their website here soon, and it retails for $14.00.

So do you guys like this one? Have you tried any RGB yet? Comments are VERY welcome!!!

I’m not really feeling this colour, maybe it’s because SO MANY brands came out with a minty colour like Bourjois, Barry M, MAC..

I didn’t think I’d like the mint candy apple from Essie because it’s so not my type of color but I think it looked really nice against my skin. I got alot of compliments when I wore it.

Hi Kelly, I’ve been lurking for a while, but I saw your tweets today about comments, so here I am!

I have Mint Apple Candy, but haven’t worn it yet, although now I think I might like Minty more. I’ve been thinking about placing an RGB order for a while now. I hadn’t realized they offered free shipping, so now I might bite the bullet and do it.

      Hi Susanna,

Thanks for writing in! It’s the bain of my existence trying to get people to comment, LOL. Ok not really, but still.

They are both worth owning and different enough that you don’t have to feel guilty!

I checked back and I love Deep. And this mint is lovely too. But RGB in the UK? You jest. A bottle of OPI (if you can get it) costs about $16 here. It’d be cheaper for me to fly to the US. Oh, good idea. I have a cousin in Philly. Hm, must check flights….

    Hi Kelly:

First, for Sonja and Jeanette you might try WWW.amazon.com because I sent some nail varnish to a woman friend and the company I used, not RGB shipped it UPS, didn’t seem to be a problem; maybe it would work depending on where you live.

Secondly, Kelly, your swatches from the previous post like I love “Slate” dark charcoal, with green and the three other colors it almost looks matte but it’s shimmery and gorgeous, and “Deep” fabulous vampy purple, ooh!

These minty green look so lovely and gorgeous on your nails Kelly, I never realized such a Hugh difference between two different shades of similar minty greens. Of the two, even though they look so pretty, I would pick Essie’s Minty “candy apple” because it’s prettier than RGB’s Minty, which is more greener and more like “shades of grass if you compare the two together. wonder what Cnady Apple would look with a Essie “Mate about you” coating?

    ((((Love Michelle))))

I love mint shades and Minty is no exception. Love it! But if I’m not mistaken they don’t send to EU, so no luck for me. :( Is it just me, or is the RGB’s website really totally confusing?!?

For some reason I’m really enamored with the whole winter collection from Essie, even Rock Candy, and it’s REALLY not my style. Usually Essie in general is not really my style (seriously, how many sheer nude/pink cremes do you really need?), but I have to own this collection. Thanks for providing beautiful pictures!

I just ordered Essie Mint Candy Apple this morning but because of your post I just shelled out the money for Minty! It’s the most I’ve ever spent on one polish but the free shipping makes it okay I think :) Thanks for doing the comparison pictures, it really did convince me that it’s okay to have both lol!

And the more I see Essie’s Mint Candy Apple (it’s everywhere!) the more I think I NEEEEED it. Like seriously have to have it.
