ManGlaze Matte Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Hello VV Peeps!

I am back from a nice mini-stay-away-from-the-internet-vacation and also a upgrading-my-site time off!

Today I’ve got the new (and old) ManGlaze colors. I decided to re-do my old swatches of these because they were so horrendous.

In case you don’t already know, ManGlaze nail polishes are all matte’s, and are some of the best ones out there. I discovered them a little over a year ago when I bought The Death Tar (now replaced by Matte Is Murder) and Fuggen Ugly. These are meant to be worn with NO top coat, and in fact are marketed more towards men, but we all know we can slap a shiny top coat on it if we want. :)

What makes ManGlaze unique to me is the awesomeness of the bottles. The artwork on them is unlike any other polish company out there, and it makes it extra special. It also makes them look “more masculine” but I’m not in any way put off by that.

The formula on these is most excellent. They apply evenly in just two coats. They look shiny at first but after about 30-60 seconds, they dry to a matte finish. They also dry completely very quickly, but not SO fast that you have zero time to fix any errors. Peep ‘em out!

Matte Is Murder

Matte Is Murder is their new black which replaced the now discontinued The Death Tar. This one is more matte to me than The Death Tar and a smidge less black, meaning I see a little more dark grey in it. There is a hint of shimmer to it as well.

And because I’m a rebel, here is is with a shiny top coat. I LOVE the green/blue/purple/pink sparkles that come out when you have the top coat on!

ManGlaze Hot Mess
Hot Mess Bling Matte Top Coat

Hot Mess Bling Matte Top Coat is another new color, which is meant to be a glittery silver top coat.  The thing about glitters and matte for me is that it’s hard to actually see the “matteness”. I like this a lot, it’s a great sparkly silver and would look amazing over a black, but you will see not much difference when I put on a clear top coat on below.

I added a shiny clear top coat and you just get a hint of it being shinier, so it’s not really even worth it unless you want it to last slightly longer.

ManGlaze The Death Tar
The Death Tar

The Death Tar is their original black matte polish. It’s a little blacker to my eye than Matte Is Murder and has a very slight satiny sheen to it.

Simply divine with a top coat!

ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly
Fuggen Ugly

Fuggen Ugly is another of their original colors. This is a steel grey/silver matte. Even without the top coat you can see little bits of purple/pink and green sparkles.

When you add the top coat the sparkles come out even more.

Overall I really love their stuff and can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us in the near future.

You can find these products on their website here, and they retails for $6.66 each.

Do you own any ManGlaze?

Hot Mess Bling is a little too pretty, I don’t know of any guys who would wear that, but wouldn’t cheerfully wear any regular nail polish if you know what I mean? They all look great though – better for the glossy top-coat, proving that rebellion is good!

Hey lady I missed you! Am happy you’re back keep up the good work. I love these colors they look awesome. I am definetly going to look these up and buy them. Also how is the wear on these. Do they chip as much as the opi matte nail polish?

      Hi lissette,

Thx! If you wear them as matte (with no top coat) they are chippier than the normal polish that you use a base/top coat with. Just the law of matte’s I think!

      Hi MissDeeCanada,

Yay it’s nice to be missed and to know that Canada loves me haha!

It’s been pretty warm here also, with only a couple days of rain so far. Kinda weird, global warming anyone?

Oh, the greys and blacks are so pretty! Or cool, pretty isn’t very manly, is it? ;)

I don’t have any Man Glaze polishes, but I would really like to try Fuggen Ugly and Matte is Murder.
