1. How has your week been so far? Pretty decent. Especially now because I’m off work until Monday!
2. What’s on your nails? I’m currently wearing Nubar Chocolate Caramel, but might change it out today to some fabulous, dark, shimmery brown…
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? My in-laws are here and my mother-in-law is cooking a fabulous southern turkey feast!
4. What’s your favorite fall/winter polish so far? This is extremely hard, but I am going to say…wait for it…Dashing Diva Astor Place! It’s unusual, unique, chic, gorgeous, and applies like a dream!
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? I think I must say Metallica, though I haven’t liked anything they have done since after the Black album in 1991. I discovered them at age thirteen, and their music pretty much defines my whole life from that age to about nineteen. They are a part of my youth, and to this day I hear certain songs and can remember an exact moment from long ago.
6. If you could transport to anywhere right this minute, where would you go? Italy in the summer-time.
7. What’s your favorite candy bar? Milky Way Dark.
8. How old were you when you started wearing makeup? Thirteen for regular makeup probably eleven for nail polish.
9. Have you ever been to San Francisco? Of course, I live across the bay from it!
10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? You know I’m not really sure to be honest. The most I spent on a nail polish was about $45 on an old discontinued China Glaze (am I proud of this debacle? Nnoooooo). I think the most on any other item of makeup (excluding perfume) would have to be my Urban Decay Book of Shadows II shadow palette. I have never bought anything from Chanel other than nail polish, and I try to stay away from those super high end brands like Dior (except for their mascara and Skinflash Radiance pen), Yves St. Laurent (except for lip gloss), Givenchy and Guerlain. I just know if I start, I’ll never go back, LOL! Plus I love MAC, Illamasqua, Urban Decay and Benefit so much that they pretty much satisfy most of my makeup needs.

3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? Turkey is in the oven, and cherry cheesecake at my house!!! They have come to expect it every year, so I can’t disappoint. Of course I have pumpkin pie too, and all the usual goodies that go with dinner.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? OPI ruby pumps, I know it’s not new but I love it so much it is my all time fav!!!
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? ZZTop…always!!!
6. If you could transport to anywhere right this minute, where would you go? To the Bahamas, I loved it there and didn’t want to come home.
7. What’s your favorite candy bar? Butterfinger…yummy!

9. Have you ever been to San Francisco? No, but I have friends that live there so I am sure I will get there someday.
10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? I tend not to spend too much on makeup, most of my high end stuff was given to me as gifts so that is nice. I’m going to say $10 or less for makeup stuff.

2. What’s on your nails? OPI Suzi Skies the Pyrenees (original) with China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out (fab holo I looove as a topcoat over everything!) – and of course Seche Vite
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? We had our Thanksgiving Sunday cause my little brother was home from the navy so today is just a chillin day at home. I’m gonna make ribs
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? i know its not really a fall/winter polish but the color I’ll be wearing most this season is OPI Suede Suzi Skies The Pyrenees. I usually wear it with some kind of shiney tip – clear, black, even pink or silver foil. It looks sooo hot with a contrasting tip. I get more compliments on it than anything else. And when I wear it with a shiney tip it totally stops the tip wear issue.
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? oh no! just one? uhhh…band? well my fave ARTIST is Lauryn Hill, her lyrics are powerfull poetry at it’s best. But BAND? Ben Folds Five
6. If you could transport to anywhere right this minute, where would you go? Nowhere… I can honestly say that right here, home with my husband and my son is the place I’d most like to be

How old were you when you started wearing makeup? i’ve had and played with makeup since before i can remember. when i was 5 my mom would give me old bottles of nail polish that she couldn’t open to play with, of course I’d always find some way to get them open and paint my nails, my toes, the dog’s nails, my dollies’ nails – lol! But I started wearing makeup everyday when i was 13 when I “became a woman” according to my dad.
9. Have you ever been to San Francisco? no, but I like rainbows – lol!
10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? $150 on a bottle of Chanel Chance perfume – still my favorite. Regular makeup? I’m a drugstore makeup shopper, I find I can apply them just as well as the pricey brands, so never very much, maybe $20.

OPI Festive Fuchsia on my hands, Dashing Diva dark creme red (I don’t know the name) on my toes. Dashing Diva just opened recently near me in Pasadena, CA. I just tried them out!

I always said I stopped biting my nails when I was in high school and discovered nail polish so probably 13/14. I really don’t wear anything on my face except lip color.

Twice. Once when I was about 10, the second time about 10 years ago. I need to go back.

Probably about $25 on a lipstick.

1. How has your week been so far? Pretty good. I too, am off until Monday. Yay!

BUSY! I have trial on Monday and I just spent almost 4 hours going over questions with my client. I am SOOO looking forward to a few days off.

OPI You Don’t Know Jacques Suede with 2 coats of Diamont. Not sure what I’m wearing for tomorrow though…

Nothing yet. Still working on that. Have a million sweet potato pies to make though.

Oooohh. Right now I think I have to say Barielle Glammed-up Garnet from the All Lacquered Up Collection. More compliments than I can count, and it’s just a stunningly beautiful red.

Going to go with group, not band, and say TLC. Love all their albums, got me through high school, college, and law school.

4. No seriously, I was 4. My mom controlled what I could wear, but she let me wear it. Bless her heart.

Of course! I mean, I was born there. Oakland bred though, and residing currently in Virginia.

Probably $60, on some foundation. I did spend $200 on my clarisonic, and haven’t regretted it. I worked at Sephora for some time though, so I tend to be fairly price insensitive about makeup costs.

1. How has your week been so far?
Quiet, for which I am grateful beyond words. It’s been a busy month.
2. What’s on your nails?
I am right now, even as I type, doing them in Milani Totally Cool. And I am loving it. I bought 3 purple glitter-type polishes recently and was kicking myself because I thought they’d all be very similar, and they’re turning out to be very different. This is a lovely surprise.
On my toes is OPI Ink, and I don’t know why, because every time I use it I am more and more disappointed in it. I should just dump it, it never shows any shimmer at all.
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything?
Going out to dinner with my husband. There’s no faster way to ruin a holiday than spend it with my family.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far?
Finger Paints Icy Iris. I reserve the right to change my mind as I have several I haven’t tried yet.

I don’t have a favorite. I have a lot I like, but none that stand out.

About 13. That awful light blue eye shadow that all 13 year olds seem to have to go through and bright shiny lip gloss. I got better

$22 for the Laura Mercier eye liner. At the rate I use it, it’s a lifetime supply, so I think it might turn out to be very cost effective!

1. How has your week been so far? Slow. Yesterday was fun as we did informational projects for Childrens Lit. class and I got to draw a dinosaur and create a puppet that was supposed to be a dinosaur but turned into a fuzzy looking bear/pig puppet. It’s a dinosaur in my dinosaur land!

Toes-Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer in Night Hydrangea (from that blasted spring collection that took FIVE months to come to my area) Tips–Essie’s Northfork nail lacquer (yes, I am wearing turquoise in fall. I break ze rules, ha ha ha! I needed something perky to lift my spirits from th icky rain and overcast here)
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? Dragging myself to my aunt’s house. I hate how cramped her formal dining room is.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? Uh, OPI Russian Navy from years ago. I’ve been wearing OPI’s Parlez-vous OPI? a lot too.
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? Only one? ONE???? I don’t have just one! I have, however, been listening to Lady Gaga a lot as of late (particularly ‘Bad Romance’)

1. How has your week been so far? pretty good but very busy but we (my friend/colleague and I) are worried that we’re going to get a paycut very soon.
2. What’s on your nails? Nothing right now, they’re getting a much needed break, but I am painting them tonight, probably Suzi says Da!
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? going to my bf’s family’s house, which is in the suburbs of Chicago, we live in Chicago.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow. At first I didn’t like it, now I am loving it.
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? Blur, because I have loved them ever since 11th grade. I know they’re not really together anymore, but I love their music and the way it progressed over their career. Radiohead comes in a very close second.

7. What’s your favorite candy bar? Valrhona dark chocolate. I am not really a candy bar person, but I love a square or two of dark chocolate every day.

1. How has your week been so far? Blah. Quite stressful on Monday night, very happy last night. So they cancel each other out, in a sense.
2. What’s on your nails? One coat of China Glaze Glacier over five coats of OPI Brand New Skates, sealed with Seche Vite. And there’s only a little bit of wear at the tips.
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? My b/f and I are staying at home for Thanksgiving this year instead of going to Burlington to see his family like we have for the past two years.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? China Glaze Millennium from their 2009 Khrome collection. I’m planning on getting more.
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? Soundgarden. I remember them from my school days as a child.

8. How old were you when you started wearing makeup? I started wearing makeup more seriously at the ‘advanced’ age of 26. However, when I was eleven I used to LOVE playing with makeup. Nail polish, I think I started wearing that hard-core at about nineteen since I never got the good fortune of being given nail polish by my ever so negligent parents when I was younger.
9. Have you ever been to San Francisco? Are you kidding me? I can’t even leave my town, let alone my state! So obviously the answer is NO.
10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? For me, it was $22 for ONE tube of Lancome Color Design Lipstick. I regret throwing the tube out because the color looked SO GOOD on me!

1. How has your week been so far? Horribly stressful, but today is my Friday so yay!
2. What’s on your nails? Sinful colors, Mercury Rising-Awesome color, though a bit chippy.
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? Going to a restaurant tomorrow with my mom’s family, and then leftovers on Friday with my dads family.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? Essie’s Mint Candy Apple looks really pretty

1. How has your week been so far? Great! Workdays have gone by fast, I found tons of new polish, and I get to leave early today, the last day of my workweek!
2. What’s on your nails? Lippmann Collection- Ruby Red Slippers. I know we’re all supposed to miffed at Deborah, but I love the woman’s polish!
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? I will be at home with the significant other and his family.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? ooohh… Essie – Mint Candy Apple?
5. Who is your favorite band (you must pick only one!)? That is so hard! I think I will say Gogol Bordello for now. I just have to dance when I hear them. It takes me back to Lollapalooza ’08, where while dancing to them, I got hit in the face by my best friend and needed two stitches in my lip! It was an amazing day/week and I love to laugh and think about it. I always think about “If I could have a band play in my backyard, a la Bam Margera style, it would Gogol Bordello”.
6. If you could transport to anywhere right this minute, where would you go? I would say Albany New York to see my family, but I need a vacation! How about the Caribbean, 30 feet underwater, scuba diving.
7. What’s your favorite candy bar? Anything with chocolate and caramel like Milky Way (light or dark) or Snickers.
8. How old were you when you started wearing makeup? Hmmm… 10 or younger for nail polish, and as for face makeup I can’t remember but probably about the same. I always did everything young!
9. Have you ever been to San Francisco? YES!! in summer of ’06 and I just adore it!!!!! I ate crab (my fave) at Fisherman’s Wharf, I went out to clubs, I rode bikes all over the city (rather hilarious when going up hill! I would lose momentum and just flop over!) I saw Golden Gate bridge and I have a ton of great pics from that trip to look back on.
10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? $22 for a nail polish (twice!) and whatever I spent on my Urban Decay Book of Shadows vol II. The next most expensive item in my makeup is my Bare Minerals foundation and that is only about $25.

This is my first time posting a reply, but I want you to know I love your blog. I come here before I buy almost all of my polishes. Keep up the amazing work!
1. How has your week been so far? Kind of long and slow, but not too terrible.
2. What’s on your nails? CND Chocolate Milk with the Copper Shimmer effect over the top of it. It’s pretty amazing
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? Having an early dinner with my boyfriend at my parents and then a late dinner with his parents.
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? I am a big fan of Essie’s Alligator Purse for a fall color. As far as winter goes, I am loving the Color Club Wonderland Minies.

10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? That’s hard to say, but I was wearing Estee Lauder cosmetics for awhile before I started working for a beauty supply distributor. So they were pretty pricey. Now I wear Youngblood Cosmetics.

9. Have you ever been to San Francisco? yup, i lived in san mateo until my mid-western husband asked me to move to kansas 7 years ago.
10. What’s the most $$ you ever spent on one makeup item? i’m more frugle with my makeup then i am with my nail polish. the most i’ve spent on makeup probably on an eye pallate from bobbi brown. as for nail polish…i’ve been known to spend some dough on rare/hard to find polishes.

1. How has your week been so far? Lazy! Lots of napping and low productivity. I’m trying to make up for it today, though!
2. What’s on your nails? Nails Inc. Berkeley Square. LOVE it! It’s a deep blue-toned gray creme.
3. What are you doing for Thanksgiving, if anything? Going to my best friend’s country house for the day/dinner. Can’t wait!
4. What is your favorite fall/winter nail polish so far? Tough question! Either the aforementioned Nails Inc. polish, or OPI Merry Midnight.
