New Eyeko Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Guten Morgen! That’s good morning in German. I am going to try and throw in a phrase in another language in some posts from time to time. Why you ask? Why not I say!

Now that we’ve gotten the language lesson of the day out of the way, I will get to the matter at hand.

Eyeko has a new collection out which includes six colors. The bottle shape is even different and dare I say better? Don’t get me wrong, I liked the other shape also, but the bottle neck was SO wide it was hard to keep the polish from globbing all over the place.

The formula on these is definitely better than the last six I reviewed here. Having said that, they still need to work out some issues with their light colors. The light ones tend to be really streaky and thick still. The darker ones though apply like a dream and are super opaque in just one or two coats. Peep ‘em out!

Eyeko Nude
Nude

Nude is a peachy nude color with subtle shimmer. This was really thick and it got a little globbed up on the tip of my middle finger. The color is pretty enough, but awful on my skin! This was three coats.

Eyeko Lilac
Lilac

Lilac is a lilac cream. This color is so pretty but the polish was a bit of a pain in the arse. This was thick and streaky, and took great care to get it somewhat even. This was three coats.

Eyeko Vintage
Vintage

Vintage is a blue/green almost Tiffany like creme. The color in reality isn’t quite as green as this picture shows. They describe it on the bottle as being “Jade Green” but I don’t think that fits it either. This is yet another one where the color is really nice, but the streakiness was really bad. It’s pretty sheer at first and this was four coats!

Eyeko Purple
Purple

Purple is a really bright purple creme. This picture is deceiving, it’s WAY more bright and more pinkish in real life. I liked this a lot, it’s not like most other purple’s out there. This applied smooth, even and thin in two coats.

Eyeko Indigo
Indigo

Indigo is a dark, shimmery indigo blue. This had me fooled because when I applied just the first coat, it looked like this amazing blue/purple shimmer. But after the second coat, the purple pretty much disappeared and it was mostly the deep blue you see here. Gorgeous color, but I have quite a few very similar to this. The formula was really great and thin and opaque in two coats.

Eyeko Cosmic
Cosmic

Cosmic is a jet black base with small iridescent glitter. What I love about this is the black is REALLY black. It’s not one of those watery ones that build up after a few coats. I love the iridescent glitter also, really unique. This was just two coats.

Overall I really like the second half of these but not the first half as much. Like I said, I think the formula on the light ones need some work!

What do you guys think., have you tried Eyeko polishes yet?

Too bad the first few have application issues – the pastels are so pretty! I think I might give them a try, even if they are a little streaky.

    Hi Kelly:

The polishes are unique and the best ones that look sensational on you and that I prefer are: Nude, Lilac, (I love vintage) Vintage and Purple (looks heavenly). even though you may have to apply more than one coat, like 3-4 coats but looks so pretty on your skin tone. Your nails never looked more beautiful and amazing.

However, Cosmic and Indigo were my favorites of the lot, love the darker bolder colors and interested in seeing how blue Indigo really is. where do you find these jewels?

I bought lilac, indigo and cosmic a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t so keen on lilac (bad application issues, just like you), but the other two were love at first sight! Thanks for the swatches, now I know not to bother with the ones that I’m missing (except maybe purple…).
