Sinful Colors Halloween 2009 Collection Swatches and Review
Happy Friday!
One day until Halloween! I am excited about our “haunted garage” we’re doing this year. I haven’t yet done a trial run of my makeup though, so I’m kinda nervous it’s going to turn out like crap. Oh well, at least it will be dark
Today I’ve got the Sinful Colors Halloween collection for 2009. Well I have all except the basic black one, because we all know what black looks like by now.
I have only reviewed two Sinful Colors polishes in the past because I had a horrible experience once. About a year ago I tried out the San Francisco color, and used CND’s Stickey base coat and then either Seche Vite or Poshe top coat. The polish turned sticky, weird, and never, ever dried! I mean not at all. It was so bizarre! That combo did not work, so I never really tried any of their stuff since then. But I saw these, and had to get ‘em. Peep ‘em out!
Let Me Go is a very pale blue/pink/lavender/green opalescent pearl polish. I thought this was going to be super, duper cool when I saw it in the bottle, but it’ so sheer it’s just kinda meh for me. This was three coats.
Courtney Orange is a bright orange shimmer. I think this is a perfect Halloween color, and I love the yellow shimmer running through it. This was three coats.
Irish Green is a bright lime green. This was VERY sheer, so I was disappointed. As you can see, even after three coats you can see my nails underneath, and I really don’t like that! Cool green though.
What’s Your Name is a black with dark blue micro-glitter. In the bottle this looked SO cool, it was blue glitter, and had swirls of purple in it. But turns out it’s not as original as I had hoped. Don’t get me wrong, I love the color, but I have many colors very similar to this that I like better. This was three coats.
Overall I think this is an ok collection, but nothing to write home about. For the price the polishes are pretty good. These were each $2.29 (correction $1.99) at Walgreen’s.
If we don’t talk until after tomorrow, have a happy Halloween! Oh and don’t you worry, I will be posting pics of my costume/makeup and our garage, etc.

Courtney Orange is pretty, I might have to pick that one up! The name is odd though. What could it be named after??
I got What’s Your Name and Let Me Go too but haven’t yet tried them. I wish Let Me Go looked on nails like it looks in the bottle
oh well. Happy Hallowen and I can’t wait to see pictures of your makeup and costume!
$2.29? I thought they were always $1.99? Or is that because of tax?
Hi Mariah,
You are correct! Something else was $2.29. Am correcting that now, thanks!
I have quite a lot of these polishes, and What’s Your Name really comes to life when paired with Pearl Harbor [clear base with small purple and blue glitter].
Oh man, Let Me Go looked so promising in the bottle. I would have loved it if it had managed to get opaque.

happy halloween Kelly!
I think that “let me go” can lookg amazing layered over black or other dark color.

I have a couple of those colors–Let Me Go and What’s Your Name?. They really are nice colors, but I too don’t like the sheerness of Let Me Go. It took me six or seven coats for full impact. Maybe if it was layered over a black creme, that might work? And I wonder why Sinful has to make many of their polishes so sheer you need at least four coats for full impact? I love their colors and the price, but come on, we need a bit more opacity!

Courtney Orange is Halloween! But I’d wear it whenever – I love orange polish! Especially when it costs $1.99

How funny! I have What’s Your Name on my nails right now.
I like Sinful Colors polish. I have Irish Green, Brooke from GetchaNailsDid sent it too me. I love the shade. Courtney Orange is a great looking shade for Halloween and the Fall season. What a shame Let Me Go doesn’t translate well on the nai. They are cheap but there are some great colors.
