MAC Magic, Mirth, and Mischief Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Good morning!

Today I have two colors by MAC from their holiday collection called Magic, Mirth, and Mischief. One is a re-release and one is brand spankin’ new.

These are both metallics, and the formula is pretty streaky. They can be totally opaque in just one coat though and they dry super fast. When applying, be careful to only wipe once down the nail for the middle and each side, and use a thin coat.

FYI these pics were taken on a cloudy day so they aren’t the greatest. Take a peek.

MAC $$$$$ Yes
$$$$$ Yes

$$$$$ Yes is a silver metallic. Honestly nothing that exciting here, I feel as though we all have a silver like this by now, though it’s still nice. This is the one that’s a re-release.

MAC Lucky Number
Lucky Number

Lucky Number is a pink/blue metallic. This is definitely the more interesting of the two, but for some reason I am still not blown away by it. Maybe it’s because I am not a giant metallic fan in general.

These are both available at MAC counters and online right now, and they are $12.00 each.

I feel like I should re-buy the $$$$ Yes from this collection. My old one from the previous collection is so watered down it took 4 coats to be opaque WTF.

      Hi Alexa,

Wow 4 coats! These are really opaque, get another one :)

Although I find that these are pretty colours, it just doesnt say fall/winter/christmas to me. I am firstly, NOT a fan of chrome at all lol… So that doesn’t help and well I have never had much luck with MAC nail polish!

I like both but I think I can pass by these. Nothing special, althought they look nice on you :)
Reminds me of OPI Glove You So Much, that I tried today…I think that everyone has this color already :(

these colors are pretty, but it seems to me china glaze has similar colors (from the roman-something collection!?)

Hmm I think I’ll be holding out for the China Glaze Khromes. The formula looks much better.

I won’t be ordering these. I’d rather buy the Khrome collection by China Glaze. I do like the pink. But not for $12!

      Hi Lucy,

Agreed, $12.00 is on the expensive side for these and they aren’t that original!

How does $$$$$ Yes compare to Essie’s Steel-ing the Scene/Loophole?
