RGB Nail Polish

The weekend is finally here are we happy or what?

I’ve got some polishes from a relatively new nail polish company called RGB to show you. I first heard about this company in the October edition of Allure magazine in a small section about nail polish. Then I saw swatches of a few colors on another nail blog, and thought, wow I gotta try some of them out for sure!

RGB (as in Red Green Blue) only make nail polish. They are also 3 free, and made in the USA. They started with just 10 core colors aptly called the “RGBten”. They will be adding to these 10 core colors with seasonal collections, and they already have a new pre-fall collection of three colors.

The bottle shape is really nice, it’s similar to Rescue Beauty Lounge’s in that it’s square. But it’s slightly shorter. The wand is on the shorter side, but not so short that it’s hard to apply or anything.

Today I’ve got three of the colors from the RGBten collection. Check them out!

RGB Slate RGB Nail Polish
Slate

Slate is a dark charcoal grey with blue, green, and lavender shimmer. I love grey’s, especially dark ones, and this really is one of the nicest ones I’ve seen in a long time. The formula was really great, creamy, smooth, and opaque in two coats.

RGB Oxblood RGB Nail Polish
Oxblood

Oxblood is a dark blood red. It actually looks darker and thicker in the bottle than it actually applies. This one gave me some trouble as far as application. It was sheer and didn’t apply evenly. I also have some cuticle drag, which you can see especially on my middle and ring fingers. After three coats it turned into a decent color, but the formula left something to be desired for me.

RGB Deep RGB Nail Polish
Deep

Deep is a really dark, vampy purple creme. The sun decided to disappear when I took pics of this so sorry for the bad pic, and all the reflections! The formula on this one was much better than Oxblood. It was much more even, and though I still needed three coats, it came out really nicely. I have seen a lot of other colors similar to this though, so I don’t think it’s highly original per se.

I look forward to seeing what RGB has in store for future collections I have high hopes! You can find these and their other colors on their website here and they retail for $14.00, but shipping is complimentary!

I emailed them and requested swatches of the Oxblood and Deep. They were nice enough to accomidate me too..! But I’ve been ordering too much as it is, and 14.00 for nail polish is steep…!

I love Deep. That one is pretty.

Am I happy for the weekend? Kinda. One part of me is saying “YAY, WEEKEND! I get to sleep in!” The other part is saying, “Aw s***, I have an essay to finish and proofread over the teeny tiny weekend!” So, you could say, I’m procrastinating. As usual. I hate writing essays! I’d rather take a test any day. I hate essays, I hate essays, I hate essays.

  • $14?! That’s insane! The colors are nice but considering that their quality is not up to par and the shades are easily duped, I’d rather buy a bottle of OPI and have money left over :P

Slate is fantastic looking. Oxblood I know seen in many polish collection. It still is such a gorgeous shade. Love it. Shame it’s so streaky. Deep is so beautiful to look at. Your so right that it’s not original but it is purty!
