CND Colour Effects Featuring Dark Ruby

The weekend is just around the corner, yahoo!
Here is yet another new CND polish called Dark Ruby with the 5 effects I have. Enjoy!
Dark Ruby
Dark Ruby is a deep wine colored red creme. Very nice on it’s own. This was two coats here for more coverage.
Dark Ruby with Ice Blue Shimmer on thumb, Sapphire Sparkle on pointer, Amethyst Sparkle on middle, Emerald Shimmer on ring and Jade Sparkle on pinky
Dark Ruby with Ice Blue Shimmer
Dark Ruby with Ice Blue Shimmer looks like a darker blue than the previous colors. I like it!
Dark Ruby with Sapphire Sparkle
Dark Ruby with Sapphire Sparkle is really nice also, you can see the reddish hues underneath the blue.
Dark Ruby with Amethyst Sparkle
Dark Ruby with Amethyst Sparkle is my favorite one of the effects. The red under the purple/blue sparkle looks amazing!
Dark Ruby with Emerald Shimmer
Dark Ruby with Emerald Shimmer is a nice one also. Very unique looking with the red/green combo.
Dark Ruby with Jade Sparkle
Dark Ruby with Jade Sparkle is interesting because you can’t really see the red so much underneath. Jade Sparkle is fairly opaque and kind of dominates the polish color here, so what you see is mostly the effect not the color.

I think Jade Sparkle is my favorite effect for everything you have swatched this week.
I’m very curious just how sheer or opaque the Effects actually are – could you possibly do a post of just the Effects on top of clear, colorless nail polish so we can see what they look like alone? Sorry if I already missed that, but I’m particularly curious because you mentioned that the Jade one is quite opaque & it seems from the picks that it doesnt really every let the base color through. A really helpful comparison would be Jade Sparkle over colorless, light blue cream, dark blue cream & a couple of other colors all next to each other to see how the other side of the matrix plays. Thx!

Good idea, I’ll try to do swatches of just the effects on their own so you can see.
I agree with sonya. that one is always standing out the most.
I wonder what it would look like if you added Amethyst Sparkle with it. maybe little close to mac’s baby goth girl? more I keep looking, maybe not so much.
I hope you sprinted down there when they released seriously hip & baby goth. you better be swatchin them soon!

Are there stores that carry these or can you only buy them on-line? I have loved your CND swatches this week but I would love to see these in person. Especially the Effects since I already own so many colors!

Some places like Sally’s or Ulta may carry them. Personally I have never seen them anywhere in stores around where I live though.

I love these swatches the most of all the days and I would see the effects on clear polish alone myself. However, I love the dark ruby polish alone it’s looks like melted chocolate and these fabulous effects I would love to try on and even use the matte finish over them. The jade sparkle, ice blue shimmer, Amethyst Sparkle (yes my favorite one too, it’s so gorgeous looking!) and the Sapphire Sparkle, just beautiful. I think it would flip people out with a guy and having these sparkling shimmering effects, you could change them each day, LOL I never knew about any of these and thought okay, they would look so pretty on woman but why not on a man’s toenails? What do your other readers’ think? I am curious but then again, I just love the nail polish and I think I will wait awhile because the CND effects are always sold out.

I have to make another comment on your beautiful photos, I love that one with your cat, Chew-bacca, and the Venice building in LA, but I really love the floral display because I have taken formal classes in floral design myself and I can just imagine the many hours/days it took to make the face and the special effects for that display alone. I really admire the workmanship of that design just in time for Halloween, it’s gorgeous. Plus, I didn’t mention how I love how you display the five CND effects on one hand so we can see how they compare to one another, that’s a real big help in deciding which ones are really beautiful compared to the rest, except I love them all and can’t decide. But that’s why your readers and myself love your web blog so much and look forward to it each day you post.
Finally, I love the extra pictures you post of your travels it adds so much life to your web blog and especially those crazy colorful icons characters you have assigned to each commenter, I love my little guy, he’s so cute, LOL. I should send my link on face book so you can see my pictures of my floral designs and beaded jewelry I have already made. I get so many compliments on the pictures from other people.
