CND Colour Effects Featuring Asphalt
Hey ya’ll!
I’m back from Vegas and had a great time with good friends. The best part was hanging with my buddies and seeing Cirque du Soleil’s “O”. It was just fantastic and worth the trip alone. Oh also I can’t forget Bellagio’s pool was nothing to sneeze at either! I can’t believe how much it’s changed since I was last there about 5 years ago, there are tons of (unsold) condos all over the place now and a bunch of new hotels/casinos. Amazing.
This week is going to be dedicated to showing you CND’s new color line and effects. Each day I will post a new color with 5 of the different effects that I got. They are all totally cool and I LOVE the idea of this because you can get so many different looks! And though I haven’t yet tried it, I am sure these effects work just as good with other polish brands. The possibilities are endless, really.
Today I’m featuring Asphalt so take a peek!
Asphalt
Asphalt is a dark “asphalt” grey creme. This is so opaque that I only used one coat here. This color on it’s own is really great, though I do own a lot of grey cremes at this point. But once you add effects it’s a whole other story!
Asphalt with Ice Blue Shimmer on thumb, Sapphire Sparkle on pointer, Amethyst Sparkle on middle, Emerald Shimmer on ring and Jade Sparkle on pinky
Asphalt with Jade Sparkle
Jade Sparkle is a sparkly effect with different green and gold specks in it. This might be my favorite one of the five that I got, it looks amazing with everything! This is just one coat of the effect, as they all were.
Emerald Shimmer is an emerald green effect. Gorgeous.
Asphalt with Amethyst Sparkle
Amethyst Sparkle is a purple, blue and pink kind of sheer effect. This one doesn’t have the same major impact as the first two, it’s more subtle but definitely there.
Asphalt with Sapphire Sparkle
Sapphire Sparkle is filled with light and medium blue sparkles. This is more opaque than Amethyst Sparkle.
Asphalt with Ice Blue Shimmer (Sorry for horrific pic and paint job but it’s 95 degrees out and I’m mellltttinnnggggggg)
Ice Blue Shimmer is just that, an icy blue effect.
Asphalt with Jade Sparkle
I did a full mani with Jade Sparkle and just LOOK how amazing it is!!! I was blown away by it.

Wow, this is really cool!! I’ve been reading about this, and thanks for showing all the different effects!! I’ll be interested to see how it works when you try these on colors from other brands.
Those look fantastic! I just received some of these and have been trying them out. I’m having way to much fun making different combinations. I’m happy to see CND come out with something new, it’s been a long time
Love all of the effects! Layering polishes is something that I need to do more often.

but now i’m struggling whether i should get Seriously Hip from MAC! god, Asphalt with Jade Sparkle looks pretty similar to that!
do these effects only work on that specific polish? (or that specific brand?)

That is a STUNNING grey. I think I’m in love. The effects are really lovely, and normally I would be melting all over them with you guys, but I’m definitely lemming some grey cremes here, so I think I’ll just stare longingly at the first shot so more!

Bad H2T – they don’t ship outside the US. And even if they did, all the effects are sold out. Ahhhh!

Wow Kelly: These grays are amazing! Asphalt Gray with those amazing effects, will they also work with a matte finish after they dry? Plus, how do the effects work? Do you just polish over the regular Asphalt nail color? I went to the web site Head2Toe and most of these effects are sold out.
I especially love the jade sparkle, ice blue shimmer and sapphire sparkle. Your beautiful nails seem to “jump” off the page, LOL
Love your pictures, the zebra pedicure is gorgeous, as is the Eiffel Tower. Kudos. can’t wait for the next CND Day.

Yes, the effects are just polish painted on over the color. All you need is one coat. I would think they would work with a matte polish, but haven’t yet tested it. I plan to though!
