OPI Suede Collection Fall 2009

It’s Saturday and it’s a long weekend and I’m feelin’ fine! How are you guys today?

OPI is releasing a collection of six previously released colors in a “suede” finish this fall. It sounds kinda weird, but it’s really cool and unique looking. They are a cross between mattes and satins and I really like them all. The only thing I would have changed about them is the names. It gets confusing when you have Lincoln Park After Dark, Lincoln Park After Dark Matte and Lincoln Park After Dark Suede, if you know what I mean…

The formula on these is really great. They could really all be one coaters because they are really opaque, but I did two coats here. They dry really quick and are smooth to the touch. Peep ‘em!

OPI You Don't Know Jacques! Suede
You Don’t Know Jacques! Suede

You Don’t Know Jacques! is a shimmery golden taupe color. This color was also featured in their matte collection.

OPI We'll Always Have Paris Suede
We’ll Always Have Paris Suede

We’ll Always Have Paris is a rose colored shimmer with a lot of silver in it.

OPI Suzi Skies In The Pyrenees Suede
Suzi Skies In The Pyrenees Suede

Suzi Skies In The Pyrenees is very different looking from the original one. This is a dark charcoal shimmer with silver. Gorgeous, I think this might be my favorite one.

OPI Russian Navy Suede
Ink Suede

Ink is what I classify as a blurple colored shimmer. The original Ink is one of my favorite polishes ever!

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark
Lincoln Park After Dark Suede

Lincoln Park After Dark is a lot lighter than the original and the matte versions. This is a greyed out purple shimmer.

OPI Ink Suede
Russian Navy Suede

Russian Navy is a shimmery navy blue, again much different from the original and matte formulas. I really like this one also.

Overall I like every single one of these colors and will definitely wear them. This blows away their matte collection by a landslide! Those were so chalky and flat looking but these are shimmery and smooth and very cool. These should be available this month at your local OPI retailer.

So what do you think of these compared to the originals and mattes? Will you be picking any of them up?

I think you made a mistake – the russian navy in the picture is actually ink suede and vice versa. Great swatches! I am a “suede” person ;)

I want them all! I really love the finish of the suede look. They all look gorgeous on you. I haven’t bought any of the matte collection. I don’t even have these in the originals. I have to buy some of them in the regular polish formula.

I like these so much better than the matte collection that came out earlier. I think it is kind of lame that they gave them the same names as colors already in the OPI collection.

I love all of them. They look glittery though. Are they hard to get off with nail polish remover. I have a few that just won’t come off. They have glitter in them.

    Hi Kelly:

I am really loving your web site more and more every day, Love that cat of yours, chewy, what a cool name and that haunted house would look decorated at Halloween, and who doesn’t love cupcakes?

Anyway, Sephora (I mean trade secret) doesn’t open up until 11:00 AM EST Sundays so I am loving these Suedes especially “Russian Nay Suede,” Lincoln Park after Dark Suede,”Ink Suede,” Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees Suede,” We’ll Always Have Paris Suede,” “You Don’t Know Jacques Suede,” wait that’s all of them! They all look very cool as you said and amazing. I think any of them would look so good on my toes! LOL.

You always find the most gorgeous colors and when I saw these on your web site, your nails are always dazzling and gorgeous I knew I had to get them, as I plan to do and visit Trade Secret or another store that carries these polishes. Hope you having an incredible Labor Day holiday and still have time for your web blog.

      Hi Marisol,

These are so cool, I’m wearing Ink (with a top coat) right now. I actually think I like this one better without a top coat!

    Hi Kelly,

I have to say I am not loving any of the new matte colors. I love the regular versions but can’t seem to get into the suede/matte look.

    Have a good Saturday!

I’ll definitely get a bunch! The LPAD for sure, it’s gorgeous, Suzi, and Ink. I’m undecided on YDKJ – it’s beautiful, but not sure I’ll ever wear it. O.o

I really love these – seems like a perfect compromise between the mattes & shimmers. Think I’ll definitely get “Paris” & “Suzi Skies”…maybe “Ink” too.

I didn’t like their first matte collection particularly, except for La Pazitively Hot. They were a little too flat and chalky for me. But I love the softer matte look here, and I’m definitely planning on getting these! I’m haunting e-tailer sites until they’re available.

I don´t like the mattes from OPI at all, but these are really great. I will be picking up a few of these for sure :) I also don´t understand why they named them after the old polishes.
