Vote for Vampy Varnish!

Afternoon ya’ll!

Vote Vote for Vampy Varnish!

I am lucky enough to be a finalist in the HLMN Hot 100 under the Beauty category. They have narrowed it down to 216 folks so far and then will be narrowing it down to the top 100. I am hoping to get in the top 100, but I need YOUR help in order to make it!

Please vote for me here, it will only take a second and won’t hurt, I promise.

Thanks!

China Glaze Fortune Teller Swatches and Review

Good Wednesday morning everyone!

Today I am showing you possibly the most perfect Halloween polish ever. It’s by China Glaze, and it’s called Fortune Teller. This is a Sally’s exclusive, and if you don’t have it already you must try to find it, it’s amazing!

The formula is really excellent on this, its thick and chunky, but also very opaque. You will only need two coats. It does tend to be rough feeling because of all the glitter, but a good thick top coat will help with that. Peep it out!

Fortune Teller

Fortune Teller is a black jelly base filled with orange glitter. The glitter is both small & round AND small, medium & large hexagon shaped.  I love it, it’s quite simply perfect. As I mentioned I only needed two coats and it’s just fabulous.

I probably won’t wear polish on Halloween night as it doesn’t really go with my costume, but I might wear it the rest of Halloween weekend! Oh and in case you were wondering just what I am going to be, the plan is Anne Boleyn. I am pretty sure she didn’t wear polish, sadly. Oh and don’t worry, I will be posting pics icon smile China Glaze Fortune Teller Swatches and Review

L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Mascara Swatches and Review

Hey ya’ll!

Today instead of showing you nail polish, I am going to do a review of a brand spankin’ new mascara by L’Oreal called Telescopic Explosion Mascara in black. This is an honest review of this product, which I am not getting paid for.

When I first opened up the package I was like, um ok it looks like a normal mascara, I wonder how this is going to be any different? Then I opened it up and saw the wand and kind of shrieked a little bit in fright.

Vintage Cutex Manicure Set Circa 1920′s-1930′s

Hey there!

I have something to show you today that I am pretty sure you aren’t going to see on any other nail polish blog. It was quite a find!

A few months ago I was walking around a nearby city called Martinez in the “antique” part of town. There are quite a few antique stores in this historic downtown, and I hadn’t been for years, so the hubbie and I decided to see what they had. Oh and before you ask, no, I didn’t have to drag him, he happens to be a huge collector of many things (you can ask my garage if you don’t believe me) so he’s always happy to look!

Whilst meandering through one of the larger stores, I was looking in the glass cabinets at the smaller items and saw this old red Cutex box. Of course I immediately asked if I could see it and when I took a peek inside, I knew it was going to be mine. Turns out it was a vintage Cutex manicure set circa the 1920′s or 1930′s (they aren’t sure and there are no dates anywhere on anything inside) and in really great condition. The asking price was $65.00 but I finagled them down to $50.00. Take a peek inside!
