Rimmel Nail Polish

Happy Friday! Today I’ve got a couple oldies but goodies for you from Rimmel. These come from their fall 2008 collection. Both are dark and vampy and perfect for fall which is coming up WAY too fast! Seriously it was such a cold foggy July and 1st half of August I feel like we are just beginning summer here in the Bay Area!

Hard Edged

Hard Edged is SOOO pretty, I am in love with it. It’s a dark red/brown shimmer that has the ‘lit from within’, glowy thing going on, which ya’ll know is one of my fav things! It reminds me a lot of the Duri colors that are a similar finish. The formula was great, really creamy and even and opaque in just two coats.

Deliciously Dark

Deliciously Dark is a really deep purple creme that screams “VAMPY” and fall to me. I love this one also, though I do have quite a few others very similar. This was a little more sheer so I needed three coats for complete opacity.

If you haven’t yet checked out Rimmel at your local Target/Wal-Mart/CVS, etc., you definitely should. They are very inexpensive (around $2-3) and have a fantastic color range. I reviewed some other  colors here, take a peek!

Ooh, I love these two! Although I already have OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and won’t need Deliciously Dark, but I’m def. going to pick up Hard Edged. I remember one day when I was particulary tee’d off (cell phone not working, had to get another card for it, place was closed), and went to Target to look at a few colors. I looked at this one, but unfortunately I made the mistake of passing it up in favor of SH Forsythia. Whoops on me!

Two gorgeous nail colors. Seen them both before but I love these. I’ve never used Rimmel and was wondering what the 60 seconds we’re like. Anthing like Sally Hansen Insta-Dri? Those vampy colors are so beautiful. I just would love to buy all the vampys I see. They are dead sexy! They both look fantastic on you.

      Hi Lucy,

They do dry in 60 seconds! They give you more leeway than the Sally Hansen’s I think though, they don’t dry AS fast, which is kinda nice if you make a mistake :)

Woah, where have I been? I definitely have to change my bookmarks. I keep getting the “vampy varnish does not exist” from godaddy.

If you don’t see me much, don’t panic. School is going to kick my ass this semester. I had this ingenious idea to do all block classes this semester thinking it would be easier. It seems I was very, very wrong. My first week back and I’ve got the Leaning Tower of Reading Material to read! :bangs head against desk:

Let’s see, now I just need to find the “subscribe to this blog via e-mail button.”

      Hi Kate & Zena,

Yeah my site was down as it was being re-built :)

Good luck with school and all that reading. I SO remember those days of being an English major and taking like 4 classes of literature. The Greek quarter I took kicked my butt!

I just added a subscribe via email plugin, I realized I didn’t have one after a few readers were like, “hey what happened!”, glad I have you guys looking out for all the things I forgot about LOL!

I like Hard Edged for sure.

Thanks for adding the email plug-in =)

Kelly, I love literature classes. I just hate the essay part. What’s funny is that I’ve taken (including this semester) 6 English classes–4 of them lit. classes (intro to fiction, women in lit, children’s lit and fairytales & mythology). My mom keeps looking at my schedule and saying, “Are you sure you’re not an English major?” I’m going to community college currently for an Associates in Arts to transfer out to art school but with the way the economy is going, I may need to rethink my interior design dreams and trade it in for something more “realistic” despite being a complete art nerd. My second love has always been books and music. There’s just no way I’m being a teacher. I have zero talent and patience for teaching. Is there an English job that’s creative, not a chained-to-the-desk-for-eight-hours job and does not involve teaching? If so, I totally need that job.

How are Chase and the Kitties doing?

I am SO GLAD you blogged about Rimmel! I’d been eyeing their colors but never tried them. Finally on Friday I picked up 615 Night Before and I love it! It’s an amazing purple!

      Hi Fresco Phyrra,

Yes, Rimmel really has some great colors. I want to get some more for sure!

    Hi Kelly:

I never tried Rimmel but have good things about the colors. After seeing you wearing them they look sensational on your nails. I love “Deliciously Dark,” and have to find these at the local drug stores or even Target.

Your new format is so cool, and where did you find those little cute icons when people post comments? The pictures of the cat, the signs and now the water fall (?!) are terrific. I still love to use the OPI Matte Nail Envy on all the colors and I still use a base coat which the directions say you should niot use for mattes. However, these are not matte colors. Kudos.
