Np2 Nail Polish

It’s another hot and balmy day here in the Bay Area and it’s Saturday, so what could be better? Oh I know, maybe some Np2 nail polish in your day would make it better.

Np2 is a brand that’s fairly new and is just now starting to take orders for their polish. The design of their bottle is totally unlike anything I have seen. The top where the cap usually is, has another smaller bottle that’s “clicked” on top of the color and it’s filled with a quick-dry top coat (or white if you have some of the lighter colors for a french tip). You can pop these tops off if you so wish and switch them around, though the only “top” colors now are clear and white. See what I’m talking about below.

Isn’t that totally cool? I just love the way they look all futuristic, it’s so different from anyone else’s designs right now, which are all pretty much the same, either rectangle square or round.

The formula on these puppies is really spot on. They apply like any high-end polish should, very smooth and opaque with no cuticle drag or unevenness. All of these were perfect in two coats.

The wand may seem too big or awkward to some of you and I thought the same thing when I first got them. But once I tried it out, they actually are really nice. They way they are tapered at the top has a lot to do with that I think. It fit very comfortably in my hand and didn’t feel too big or like I was going to drop it. I think if they had gone with a rectangle or square design that large, there definitely would have been issues.

Theory

Theory is a gorgeous, hard to describe color. It’s purple and yet also very grey at the same time. It’s got a killer shimmer in it which has green and lavender in it. It’s really unusual and I have nothing else like it.

Cosmic Ray

Cosmic Ray is an emerald green shimmer which is great! They describe it as a Peacock Green, but really it’s more emerald to me. The shimmer is light green and blue. So pretty.

Blue Planet

Blue Planet is a dark navy blue shimmer. The shimmer in this is light green and lavender or pink colored. A totally gorgeous jewel toned polish.

My first impression of these is great. I love the formula, bottle design and colors. The only thing that may hold some of you back is the price. These are $22.50 each, but you are also paying for a quick-dry top coat with them, though I know that’s still not exactly inexpensive.  They currently have 36 color choices listed on their website here and you can now order online, though shipping can take 2-4 weeks currently.
