Eyeko Nail Polish

Eyeko Beauty is a company that hails from London (holla!) and was created in 2000. Eyeko means Love in Japanese and was created by Max and Nina Leykind. They started with their popular Eyeko Cream, which is a triple duty moisturizer and remains their number 1 best seller. They have since expanded into a full line of cosmetics including nail polish!
When I was in London I actually saw these in a Superdrug and almost got them, but I had about 15 other polishes already to bring home so I passed on them. Also one of them was sold out and I am so anal I didn’t want ANY if I couldn’t have them ALL! I even took a pic of the bottles ![]()

Of course now I am glad to have the opportunity to review them because they are so cute and I really love the packaging.
The formula was a little hit or miss. Some were thick and somewhat streaky and some were thin and applied perfectly. The bottle, though it’s cute, does have some issues.

As you can see the wand is fairly short, which works for me but might not work for everyone. The one thing I didn’t love about the wand is that the cap isn’t your standard smooth long cap, it’s like a “bottle cap” so it makes grasping it a little harder. Also the mouth opening of the polish is REALLY wide so the polish tends to really glob onto the wand and brush so you have to do a lot of wiping it off to get the right amount on the brush. What happens when you wipe off too much inside the bottle is that the polish tends to clump and get sticky around the edge so it doesn’t close as well and then the polish can dry out faster.

Pretty Polish For Neat Nails
Pretty Polish is a very pale, almost pastel pink creme. This was one of the ones I had streaky issues with as you can tell from the picture. This was over a base coat and was three coats, yet you can still see some areas where the polish didn’t totally cover my nail and my ridges show through a lot. Still, it’s a pretty color and flattered my skin tone.

Pastel Polish For Nice Nails
Pastel Polish is a light pastel blue with an opalescent pink/purple flash. I LOVE opalescent colors! This one too though was thicker and streakier and I had issues getting it even. This was three coats and again my ridges look horrific for some reason. Love the color though!

Punk Polish For Neon Nails
Punk Polish is a bright flamingo pink creme. They call it a neon on the label, but it’s really not neon. It does tend to be really dull without a top coat like neons are though so you will want to use one. The formula was a little thick on this, but nothing that I couldn’t handle and after three coats it was nice and even.

Disco Polish For Nighttime Nails
Disco Polish is a clear polish packed with tiny pieces of silver glitter. This is two coats here and you can see just how packed it is, it’s mostly glitter!

Hot! Hot! Hot! Red Nail Polish for Naughty Nails
Red Nail Polish is a pretty, classic bright red creme. It’s the perfect red for my skin being very blue based rather than orange. It reminds me of Red Hots (the candy) or a Rockabilly red. The formula on this was just perfect. It was thin and smooth and very opaque in just two coats.

Vamp Polish For Nasty Nails
Vamp Polish is a basic black creme. For a split second when I opened the bottle it looked like an extremely dark navy blue, but after two coats it definitely turned black. This had the same formula as the red, very smooth and opaque.
You can find Eyeko nail polish on their website here or at most Superdrugs (in the UK) and they retail for about 3 pounds or $5 US dollars each.
What do you guys think of these? Do any of you UK readers have these or will you be buying any?

These are super cute. Thanks for sharing.
I ordered Disco and Punk Polish from the website almost four months ago, and still haven’t used them. Yours are the first swatches that have come out looking great and not messy like the brushes on those strange bottles would suggest.
One of these days I’m going to try atleast Punk Polish on.
I love the packaging, the bottles are cute. I am not sure tho that I’d give these a shot because of what you said with streakiness, etc. I do love that opalescent one on you, great swatches altogether!
Those bottles are very cute! They remind me of something…did Sally Hansen maybe used to have bottles that looked like that? I’m talking ages ago…
The Pretty Polish color is pretty. And I’m always in search of a color like that. But, like the problems you had with this one, I’ve never found one that didn’t streak! The search lives on…
I have the disco polish and I loooove it! It is so sparkly and dense. woot for glitter!
so pretty nail color I got the pink polish too
hehe.. love it!
Nice swatches, thanks. I have a few of these in my untried box, I love the cute bottles but had wondered about the application given the brush and price!
