New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!

Happy Hump Day! I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday, time flies. Before you know it, I’ll be 87 years old wink New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!

Sephora has released some new Sephora by OPI colors which I think are pretty damn spectacular, if I do say so myself (which I just did). I didn’t get them all, but I do have six of ‘em. I am missing Under My Trench Coat (and now wish I had ordered it) and of course the limited edition #212 wasn’t available when I ordered these but now is, poop! Now I’m just wondering when those pesky matte’s are going to be available!

As with most of the Sephora by OPI polishes I have reviewed in the past, the formula on these was really great. Totally creamy, opaque and almost all were two coaters. I love the brushes on these, they aren’t too wide or thin and the polish just flows perfectly off the tip. Peep them out!

Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!
Ocean Love Potion

Ocean Love Potion is a beautiful teal that leans towards the green side of teal. It’s creamy and totally fabulous. With so many teals out there I can see how some of you might not want yet another one, however this is different. Here are my comparisons: darker than Essie Greenport and less blue, lighter than Misa Dirty, Sexy, Money and not as dusty, darker than Dazzle Dry Casablanca and less blue and much lighter and less blue than Diamond Cosmetics Don’t Teal My Heart Away. Teal is one of my fav colors so I was totally happy with this one. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI Set the Mood New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!
Set the Mood

Set the Mood is kind of hard to describe. Sephora’s website calls it a ‘metallic dark pink’, but I beg to differ. This doesn’t seem dark pink to me, more of a medium peachy pink. And the finish wasn’t metallic, more shimmery with flashes of gold. I like it whatever you might describe it as and it was two coats.

Sephora by OPI What a Broad New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!
What a Broad

What a Broad is a super pretty royal purple creme. Yes we have seen a lot of purple cremes lately also, but I still like it. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI Screen Test New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!
Screen Test

Screen Test is a seriously pretty hot fuchsia shimmer that flashes purple. I totally love this even though it’s not my “norm” and I don’t have anything like it. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI Dark Room New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!
Dark Room

Dark Room is a Sephora Beauty Insider Exclusive, meaning you have to be a member of their Beauty Insider program to buy it. They describe Dark Room as a ‘smokey deep evergreen’ and that’s about right. It’s not forest green for sure. It has a lot of blue and grey to it with a very subtle shimmer. I totally LOVE this color but know some of you won’t because it doesn’t “look” green per se. It’s not a dupe to any of the other dark greens you have seen on my site either, which is fab. This was a little more sheer so I used three coats.

Sephora by OPI In the Shadows New Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Colors!
In the Shadows

In the Shadows, much to my surprise, might be my fav of all these! I expected a dark vampy chocolate brown but in fact this is much more. It’s darker than I thought and has that same very subtle shimmer that Dark Room has, which you don’t often find in a chocolate brown. Word of warning when applying this: let each coat dry thoroughly before adding another coat otherwise you will wind up with “bald spots” where the polish wipes off if its not dry. You can kind of see that on my ring finger towards the cuticle, it looks lighter there than the rest of the nail. This was three coats.

Which ones of these might you try out? If you want to check them out online, you can find them here or in Sephora stores. They retail for $9.00 each.

  • Hi Kelly:

Sephora by OPI is my favorite polish brand beside OPI itself. Plus there is a Sephora Cosmetic store in Nashua, NH and one in Salem, NH. What is so fab about the Sephora by OPI Nail Polish displays is that they have “testers” of all their products and let you try on the polishes, as many as you like, they even supply the nail polish remover and cotton pads. What other place does that I ask you?

There amazing Sales Technicians are there to help you with any questions you have and it’s just a wonderful experience visiting their stores. When I told them the polish was for me they gave me such great service. I even called back to thank the Store Mananger and they great staff for all the wonderful help they had given me.

Anyway, I love “In the Shadows” with it’s super dark brown color. “Dark Room” love the dark green shade, the other one is “Ocean Love Potion” and it’s amazing teal color. I wonder how close of a match is “What a Broad” is compared to my fav “Don’t Go There,” the muted purple shade.

The other two “set the Mood” and “Sreen Test” also look very pretty on your nails but the first ones I mentioned before, I just love how you make the colors look even more gorgeous on your nails, it’s amazing how beautiful they look here on your web blog.

Sephora by OPI does have a product I like to mention which is called, “Nail Polish Fast Drying Drops” which uses a eye dropper to quickly dry the last color coat that you paint your nails with. In less than one minute it dries the polish to the touch and in less than five minutes sets all the polishes so you can wear it alone, or add your own top coat brand. What I love about the eye dropper is “no more brush on” nail driers” that sometimes ruin the (manicure) pedicure. Have a wonderful day.

    ((((Love Kelly))))

    Mc Huggs :)

Thank you Kelly! I’ve been looking all over for a swatch of Dark Room. You have the first I’ve come across :)

“Set the Mood” looks like Zoya’s Drew… how does “Ocean Love Potion” compare to CG’s Custom Kicks?

    Hi Amy,

    Glad you found my swatches!

Ocean Love Potion is actually nothing like Custom Kicks (which you can see my swatch of at the link below). Custom Kicks is a Robin’s Egg blue, not teal and has a subtle yellow shimmer.

I love all the purple creams that have been coming out recently. I think it would look awesome with a matte finish. I really like Dark Room too.

The most exciting thing happened today that I need to share with someone…I finally found the Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen spring collection! I wandered into a Walgreens to see if they had the new WetnWild nail polishes, and started looking at the discounted Sally Hansen polishes, where I noticed a purple bottle that was misplaced. Sure enough, it was Night Hydrangea! I started looking for the rest of the collection and it was stuck in a corner on the bottom shelf. I got Night Hydrangea, Forsythia, and Honeydew. I looked for this collection all over months ago when everyone was posting swatches but none of the drugstores near me ever had it so I gave up, thinking I would never find it. It figures that I would find them when I least expected to!

    Hi Katrina,

Oh yay, so glad you found them! They didn’t come out in stores near me for 2-3 months after I swatched them! It’s weird how late they can be on these things.

  • I don’t have any Sephora by OPI, because I figure I’ll just buy OPI. I don’t have a Sephora by me. I don’t think they have any can’t find anywhere else colors, except Dark Room, that’s pretty cool!

  • Wow, these colors are great. I’m so in love with Set the Mood, What a Broad, and In The Shadows since I don’t have anything like them in my collection. Thank you for posting these!

  • Thank you for these swatches!!! I have Ocean Love Potion and Dark Room on the way (I should get them tomorrow), and now I’m even more excited :D

    Hi Kelly:

First off, I want to thank you for your dedication to your blog and posting! I check it just about everyday to see what looks good and is new. Secondly, I was looking through some older blogs and I came across some OPI colors i have seen in blogs in the past but could never find. Where can I find Have You Seen My Limo and Who Are You Wearing?

    Thanks!

  • Sometimes no amount of Barry M and GOSH can make up for the fact we don’t have Sephora in the UK! I love these – and I’m siding with you on the favourites too.

Hey – I wonder if we’ll all still be blogging away at the grand old age of 87! That old folks home better have WiFi!

    Hi Annie,

    Aww thanks!

I think both of those might be hard to find since they are older, but you could Google them and see what comes up. If you want them really bad, I’m sure someone on eBay has them!

    Hi Kelly,

Thank you for all your hard work.

I LOVE in the shadows and dark room. I think they are must haves.

Kudos to you, Katrina for finding those polishes. I swear, I looked everywhere I could and was never able to find them.

Enjoy the night Hydrangea!! I am very jealous! : )

Dark Room was such a let down to me.
Sephora.com says, “Sephora by OPI DARK ROOM is a dangerously deep, gorgeous, green nail color…”
It absolutely looks like dark blue to me, in the bottle, and on my nails. I see no green in there. I wouldn’t have bought it if I’d seen in first, that pic on Sephora.com doesn’t represent it accurately at all. Actually, I’m going to try to return it. =o

I love these polishes! I was actually in Sephora today and let me say I have a bone to pick with them. I ordered Dark Room from the internet because it is a Beauty Insider Exclusive and I walked into the store today and there it was with the rest of the polishes… no distinction :( Kind of upset I paid the shipping & I’m still waiting (ordered on Sunday) when I could’ve had it today. Oh well, such is life! Love the post and your dedication!! My hubby would absolutely kill me if I created a blog dedicated to NP so I’m thrilled that I can live vicariously through you!! :)

Please explain to me what this ‘hump day’ thing is! I had never heard that saying before reading your blog, it’s not something we say in England

hm..ocean love potion looks a lot like la girl’s tropical

  • Sephora is driving me NUTS with 212-Sephora. I got a notification e-mail that it was finally available yesterday, and then it’s not showing as available on the website yet. Ugh!

Set the Mood and Screen Test are gorgeous! And I like Ocean Love Potion in your swatch a lot, though usually I don’t like creams.

I really give Sephora points for the formula, the wear on it is fantastic!
