Kiss Neon Everlasting French Nails

Morning Peeps! Funky french manicures are all over the place recently and I am really glad about that. I am SO OVER the basic french nail I could scream, and that goes for the french pedicure as well. It seems as though every other female in the Bay Area has acrylic french nails with blinding white, thickly painted tips. In a word: TACKY & OVERDONE. Ok that was two words, but who’s counting?

For the record, I’m not really the glue-on nails kinda gal, never have been and don’t think I ever will be. However, I did have some fun with these limited edition Kiss Neon Everlasting French Nail Kits that just came out for the summer. They are only available through the end of this month so get ‘em while their hot! They come in hot pink, green and orange and also have a funky design on some of them so you can add an extra dash of *oomph* to your look. They also have the hot pink tips for toes and I’m just not sure how I feel about that, LOL!

These are the medium length and are glue-on’s (as opposed to tabs) for up to 7 days of wear. The kit comes with 28 nails in 14 different sizes, 2g glue, mini-file and a manicure stick. Now I must admit that I didn’t use glue for these. I used some stick on tabs from another kit I have. I just cannot commit to a look like this for more than a few minutes, it’s just not really me. However if you use the glue, they stay on much longer and adhere better. For removal, you can get their handy All or 1 Artificial Nail Remover kit which removes up to 5 nails at once in just a few minutes. Maybe you noticed that these are pretty long, especially compared with my normal nail length. And you are right! These are extremely long on me, I would have had to cut about 3/4 of the length off them for me to wear them comfortably and that of course would ruin the french design of them. Also I tend to have pretty small and narrow nail beds, so I couldn’t even use any of the thumb nails because they were way too wide for my fingers. Really cute design though, right?

When you look at my hand from this angle you can really see the length! The one tricky thing about these nude colored nails is that at least when you use tabs, you can kind of see them on the nail bed under the fake nail. It’s hard to get a really natural look with pale colors, every flaw shows up. These actually fit around my cuticles better than a lot of other artificial nails have in the past. They are fairly oval in the cuticle area and my nails are shaped that way so that worked out well for me. If you have more of a square shaped cuticle area, they may prove to be too rounded and not cover your entire nail.

Here we have the neon orange ones. These have a purple and silver glitter pattern with a very thin strip of white separating the nail tip from the rest of the nail.

I think I like the design of these more than the green. The thin white strip with the silver glitter strip looks pretty cool!

I think these are fun and funky and I could see a really adventurous person wearing them. While I liked the idea of them, they just are too flashy for me and I definitely could not deal with that amount of length on them. It would be nice to see them made in a shorter length for those of us who are more comfortable with that.

  • I think one of my coworkers wears these. She has every finger a different neon color. I think they’re neat.

I like the ones that are just plain without the designs on them the best. And ditto with the poster above, your wedding ring is gorgeous!

  • Hi there! I ALWAYS read your stuff and make my decisions of what to buy by your pics. Keep up the good work! Thanks a bunch! (it’s a bummer that here in Brazil we don’t get these awesome brands, only by Ebay or whatever).

I’d poke my eyeballs out while trying to take out my contacts with those!!! Mine are the length they are for a reason–I hate poking my eyeballs with any sort of nail!!!

I hope you’re getting sun so I can live vicariously through you! It’s supposed to t-storm here in good ol’ Midwest. Did you know it’s July and these past three days have been (on average) 65 degrees?!?!?!?! This is very unusual for the Midwest. By this time, we’re usually have constant humidity problems in the upper 80s and 90s. What’s up with the weather, Midwest? I want heat!!!

Poor Zena had to be tranquilized from all the firecrackers and everything. She’s probably going to be tranquilized more if it starts thundering. My poor baby dog!

    Hi Kate

I know, they are WAY too long for me!

It’s actually not that warm here either the last few days. Maybe 65-70 with a lot of wind. And of course the fog came back in just in time for the 4th so we can’t see fireworks! Maybe it will clear out by tonight though. My dog isn’t a fan of the loud noises either, but thankfully we don’t have much around here.

The fireworks in my area were (thankfully) canceled but we have little kids here who love those throw-on-the-ground snapping firecrackers and just plain noisy objects. Even those bother Zena. Her big ears were bred into her breed to have superb hearing to track down (and kill) rats, rodents…jaguars. She hears just about everything.

Hopefully the fog clears up for you. I’m staying home and enjoying the firework-free day (for once). Well, after Zena gets a bath. She rolled in something smelly again. She stinks.

I was planning on seeing the fireworks tonight.. but I am feeling way too lazy right now :) I love your wedding set, too. Not feelin’ the nails so much.

I’m so glad you posted these! It gives me ideas. I have the Ooh La La and La Di Da collections coming to me from the Zoya twitter deal. I wasn’t entirely sure how I was going to wear the neons. Now I know!

I actually have more length than that on my natural nails. It’s not a look for everybody though. I do find your natural length flattering and the length with these nails is attractive as well.

  • I think artificial nails serve a good purpose for some, and these are definitely the funkiest I’ve seen. I might steal those designs for my own nail art.

I got very distracted by your bling though – utterly gorgeous!

These are really wild looking nails. I like these nails with the funky tips. I’ve never worn artificial nails. I don’t even like French tip manicure. They do look pretty on you. I wouldn’t know what to do with all that length either.
