Chanel Le Vernis in Gondola for Fall 2009
Gondola is one of two new polishes in Chanel’s collection called Venice for Fall 2009. I didn’t order the other one called Intermezzo because I knew it was going to be way too light and a huge waste of moolah for me and judging from the pics I have seen online, I was correct!
Having said that though, I was a wee bit disappointed with this one also. The promo pics made it look like a much darker wine colored polish, but really, it’s a medium red. Peep it peeps!

Gondola IS a pretty color even though it’s not what I has hoped it would be. It’s a medium berry red with lots of nice gold and red shimmer. It’s a very sexy red and I could totally see wearing it on a hot date. Not like I have any hot dates anymore, I am married and a total homebody, but you get what I’m saying (single ladies in tha house!!) The formula was spot on like you would expect from Chanel. This was totally opaque in just two coats.

You can find Chanel Gondola and Intermezzo here and they retail for $23.00 each. Yes I did in fact say $23.00. EACH. I really wish Chanel would lower their prices already, its not like their polish is any better than most other brands and it’ not like it stays on for a solid month with no wear! What you are paying for, quite simply Internet, is the logo and that’s it. So don’t expect that this polish will be better than anyone else’s when you buy it! Ok, I’ll shut up now!

If I had seen it in person before I bought it, I probably would have passed also. It looked so much more “vampy” online
I really like this colour, and I love all of my Chanel polishes (I have at least 30 of them!) and will be adding this one to my collection as well as the Jade one when that is released. Thanks for the lovely swatch.
Currently am wearing this color on my toes. Thought the glitter would show up a bit more, but the color still is beautiful. I own several Chanel polish and love them. That being said, I own 99 cent polishes and love them.

Your right, $23 is a lot of money to pay for a designer name polish and they should lower their prices. I would think in this big competitive market they would see that. Nevertheless, they must get many woman to buy the polish just for the Chanel name.
But still it’s a beautiful color and it does look fantastic on your nails. I think that alone would cause many people to purchase this shade.

I like the color but not enough to get it. Also, the three Chanel NP’s that I have seem that their formula is too thick or something. I don’t know but I find that OPI or Zoya work better for me.
