Today I have Zoya’s Dare collection for fall 2009. This collection suits me better than Truth since they are all cool colors and totally “my style”. There are 4 cremes, 2 shimmers and all applied really nicely.

Zoya’s really banging them out this season and they are going to have three more fab colors coming soon, so stay tuned for info!!

Demi

Demi is a really beautiful muted mauve creme. I am really loving this on the nail, it’s super flattering and definitely screams “fall” to me. This was two coats.

Zoya keeps on bringing us the good stuff! They have two more collections out for fall 2009 (alongside the Matte Velvet collection) which are Truth and Dare. This one, called Truth, features half warm/half cool metallic shimmers.

The formula on these was totally excellent. Smooth, opaque no streaks, just perfect like most Zoya’s are. Enjoy!

Penny

Penny is a light copper and the name is very apt. It looks like melted pennies. I didn’t think this would work on my skin tone, but I pulled it off! This was two coats.

The soon to be released Zoya Matte Velvet collection for fall 2009 is here and is fabulous. Instead of being flat matte, these have a very subtle shimmery finish that gives them a velvety feel, rather than some other brands more chalky feel.

It’s my opinion that these really are much better than OPI’s recent matte collection. I feel as though OPI was a bit lazy in that they didn’t even create new colors, they just used old ones with a new formula. Also with the exception of La-Pazitively, OPI’s are very chalky and flat. The instructions for these (as well as OPI’s) say don’t wear with a base coat (or top coat obviously) but I did anyway and they worked out just fine.

As far as formula, like most matte polishes, these dried FAST. These dried faster than KO, OPI and ManGlaze so when applying, work fast and even! They were all just two coats, but you could probably do one thick one and it would look fine.

Loredana

Loredana is a great gunmetal grey with a subtle silvery shimmer. I love almost every grey I have tried and this one is no exception. Stay tuned for comparisons below of this next to ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly.

Today is my 8 millionth birthday, or so it feels like. Let me put it this way. I have been listening to Metallica for TWENTY FOUR YEARS!!!!! That’s probably longer than some of you have been alive and I just cannot believe it (but think how they must feel!)  It seems like JUST YESTERDAY I was
13 years old and thought that being over the age of 30 was horrible and I would need a walker and diapers. Youth really IS wasted on the young!

I thought I would do a poll today all about age and how you view aging. I am thankful that my family has great genes and we all look a lot younger than we actually are!

We have a conundrum! Apparently the first winner DID respond to me about the contest via Contest Machine, but I never saw it. Then the second winner I announced also responded! Since this was a weird unforseen event, I will be sending BOTH of you Baptiste! The second winner is going to have to wait probably 2 weeks though because I have to order it and get it shipped.
