My Desk

As some of you may know from reading my blog for awhile, I occasionally like to post non-nail polish related things on here. I thought it might be fun for you to see where I do all my blogging from. I always like knowing what people’s desks look like (and inside of houses for that matter) so I have included a bunch of pics of where I spend an insane amount of time when I am home.

Then again maybe you don’t care, but either way, here you go!

Diamond Cosmetics Nail Polish for Summer 2009

Happy Hump Day! Ok so we are about halfway through the week and inching towards the weekend, so just hang on! I have some more new (to me) polishes from a company called Diamond Cosmetics.

Diamond Cosmetics started back in 1982 mostly selling lip and eye pencils to drug stores and retail chains. They have since expanded to three different divisions which include retail, professional and private label that sell a variety of cosmetics. Their professional division, which sells the Flossie Diamond nail polish, started in 1988 and sells their products to beauty supply distributors and salons worldwide.

They have about 140 different nail polishes and quite a wide range of colors as well. And here is the best part; most of them are only $2.00 each!! The colors below are their newest ones for summer 2009, hope you like!

Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy is a pretty shimmery medium pink with a dusted kind of feel. It didn’t look all that special in the bottle but I really liked it on the nail. The formula was really nice and thick, but not clumpy. This was three coats.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) is a new brand to me. I became aware of them from Scrangie’s blog and fell in lust with some of the colors she posted, so I decided to give them a try myself!

Some background about the company: They started in 2004 with just two lip balms called Tarred & Feathered. These were a black and white duo that were created to either darken and define or lighten the lips. They now offer a wide range of products including Lip Tar, which is completely AMAZING (check out Temptalia’s swatches of some), nail polish, loose powder eyeshadows and even airbrushing ink!

The formula on these was pretty great. They were thin, but not runny and I only had one slight streaking issue with one of them and when you see it, you’ll know why!

OCC Uber Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer
Uber

Uber is a nice mellow taupe creme. I wanted to try this one out because I love “mushroomy” colors and thought this might fit the bill. It kind of does, but really it looks more safe than that. This is the kind of color that would be great in a work place where you have to be conservative, but this has that slight edge that makes it special. This went on a little sheer so I needed three coats.

Deborah Lippman Fall & Winter 2009

Deborah Lippmann has some truly cool stuff for us this year! Today I am showing you a sneak peek of her winter 2009 collection which includes Wicked Game and Happy Birthday. Wicked Game is actually a re-release from her Vinyl collection which she did with Bath & Body Works a few years ago. But it’s back and looking fine!

I also have swatches of Don’t Tell Mama, which is a new one for her fall 2009 collection. To be released alongside Don’t Tell Mama is Marquee Moon, which I don’t have swatches of yet. I showed you the bottle awhile back, it’s a silver metallic polish with huge chunks of silver sequins in it.  Check ‘em out!

Deborah Lippmann “Celebrate” 10th Anniversary Collection

Deborah Lippmann is releasing a really cool limited edition set of 3 colors called Celebrate in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her company. I would like to take back
everything I said about their bad customer service. Deborah read my
blog post about that awhile back and emailed me. She was “mortified”
(her words) that no one had gotten back to me and apologized. She also
gave me her personal contact info. I was blown away by this because
this is Deborah Lippmann personally contacting me! She was so
gracious and sweet and I am very grateful about the whole thing.

Ok
enough of the sappiness and onto the collection! The polishes are all glittery, super blingy and fabulous. Check ‘em out!
