Deborah Lippman Fall & Winter 2009

Deborah Lippmann has some truly cool stuff for us this year! Today I am showing you a sneak peek of her winter 2009 collection which includes Wicked Game and Happy Birthday. Wicked Game is actually a re-release from her Vinyl collection which she did with Bath & Body Works a few years ago. But it’s back and looking fine!

I also have swatches of Don’t Tell Mama, which is a new one for her fall 2009 collection. To be released alongside Don’t Tell Mama is Marquee Moon, which I don’t have swatches of yet. I showed you the bottle awhile back, it’s a silver metallic polish with huge chunks of silver sequins in it.  Check ‘em out!

Wicked Game is amazing and it’s impossible to capture the true color on camera. It’s a lavender/silver duochrome  that has flashes of green and blue. You can see from the bottle pic the other colors in there, but on the nail pictures, it’s hard to see. Amazing. The formula was great, very smooth and no streaks at all. This was three coats.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday is so appropriately named! This one is packed with multi-colored and sized glitter suspended in clear polish. You can see all the glitter pieces range from very tiny specks to large chunky hexagons. This is so fun and would make a great layering polish. When putting it on, I waited a couple minutes between coats to give the glitter enough time to settle in. Otherwise when you put another coat on, it moves the glitter around and kind of pushes it to the top of the nail. This was three coats.

And now for the GRAND DADDY of them all, Don’t Tell Mama. I almost died when I opened the box and saw this. The color is unbeliveable and is even better than these pics show. Don’t Tell Mama is a deep jade green with lighter colored green shimmer. It’s SO shimmery and mesmerizing to look at, I think this is easily now one of the best greens I have ever seen. Another thing I love about it is that I don’t own anything like it at all. There may be colors similar out there, but I sure don’t have any of them. The formula was creamy and wonderful and this was three coats.

Don’t Tell Mama and Marquee Moon will be available in July for Nordstrom’s anniversary sale and on Lippmann’s website here. The preliminary info on Wicked Game and Happy Birthday is that they will come out end of September or early October. They are all $15.00 each.

Which ones are you going to snatch up?

  • Wow, those are gorgeous!
The first one reminds me a tiny bit of a pale version of Zoya’s Ki, but they’re both gorgeous!

Wicked Game reminds me a little too much of a Sephora nail polish I bought about a year ago – which I love, but I don’t need more of :) .

Don’t Tell Mama, however….just Oh Wow. This one is going to be worth going out and getting, no question.

I have Wicked Game, but I haven’t used it forever because I remembered it being very, very sheer! But really? Opaque in two coats? Maybe my memory is faulty? (Wouldn’t be the first time!) After seeing how nice it looks on you I’m going to dig it out and give it a go sometime soon!

  • Might Don’t Tell Momma be a Cabaret reference? I distinctly remember there being a line about green nail polish + Don’t Tell Momma/Mama is a song from the show.

How close to Misa’s Toxic Seduction is Don’t tell Mama? I don’t own it but based on the swatches it looks very similar.

    Hi Eliza,

It’s actually very different from Toxic Seduction. Toxic Seduction is lighter and doesn’t have green shimmer, I believe it’s gold colored. TS is also more of a teal whereas this is more “jade” green. Get them both if you don’t have them they are excellent!

I loveeee Wicked Game. Love love love it! Happy Birthday is so fun and festive. I would love to just buy it for myself and paint my nails with it once a year for my birthday :) That would be so fun. Don’t Tell Mama is gorg, as well.
