New Header!
You have probably noticed that I
have a new header. This one is in honor of the month of May and my trip
to England in a few weeks. As you can tell, I am super excited about
it! I also wanted to try out my newly acquired Photoshop skillz. I will
be doing a new one every month (or more) so I hope you like ‘em!
One
fun thing you might want to know about when I am in London is that I am
going to Selfridge’s (which is kind of like Sephora) and a meeting with
a representative from Illamasqua! She will be showing me their line of
products in the store. I plan on doing a great blog post with pics to
show all those who can’t make it to a Selfridge’s. I can’t wait!
Have a good one!

Welcome! My name is Kelly and Vampy Varnish is a animal friendly beauty blog.

SOOOO jealous! Enjoy and see if you can bring back a prize for a contest
Agh! So jealous! Please take lots of photos
Like the new header. Wish I could climb in you luggage! I’ve always wanted to go. I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time. Will you be doing any polish hunting for brands we don’t get over here? Maybe you can find some Japanese brands.
I’m looking forward to your posts about London! I’m moving there in a few months and I’m already excited about Butter and Illamasqua!
Hope you have a great time!
i’m so excited for your trip!!!! you should also check out harrods and harvey nics for their beauty departments as well! there are some discount beauty supply stores as well that are fantastic
I like Selfridges. I wish it wasn’t always so busy there. It seems there are always millions of people at the MAC counter. I went to the Estee Lauder counter last time and got really good service. Enjoy
Hi Kerriann,
I just might
Hi Nixxy,
Oh believe me between my hubbie and I we will be taking hundreds of pics!
Hi Lucy,
I will definitely be keeping my eyes out for polishes we can’t get here. I might have to bring an extra bag for those alone haha!
Hi Lianne,
Very cool! Thanks!
Hi sara,
I am definitely going to Harrod’s and thanks about the tip about Harvey Nic’s, I’ll check it out also!
Hi Jinnzor,
I will keep that in mind and maybe try to go first thing in the morning then.
Hi – I really hate to break this to you girls (I live in UK), but Butter London is only available through a few e-tailers in the UK, which is why it’s not that big here. There is an online store – HQHair which also has a real shop in Central London (HQ hair & beautystore, 2 New Burlington Street, London W1S 2JE) which sells Butter London. The brand to go for are http://www.nailsinc.com/ Nails Inc and http://www.leightondenny.com/ Leighton Denny. Both have some good colours and LD has a great base coat (Undercover), which cleverly goes matte when it is dry enough to start painting colour over. Nails Inc have some wild yellows and oranges int their new season’s collections and some good dtaple greys, blues and glitters. Happy shopping!
Hi Emma,
Yeah I wasn’t expecting to see any butter LONDON in London strangely enough! I am more interested in Illamasqua at this point anyway. Thanks for the tips though, I plan on checking out those other brands when I am there!
Loving the new header!
How long are you in London for? Let me know if you want any hints and tips on where to go and what to see. Make sure you go on the London Eye and a river cruise (preferably on a dry day). You’ll love Covent Garden too.
I don’t think you’ll be able to track down any Japanese (they are even more rare here) but Illamasqua will be amazing. I am about to place a big order for their creme eyeshadows and a few nail polishes.
Whenever I go to London (about once a fortnight) I still feel like a tourist – it’s a brilliant place. Have a wonderful time!
Hi Helen,
We are in London for just over a week. Definitely planning on doing the London Eye and many other things! I am very excited!
I cannot wait to see the Illamasqua counter in person among other British makeup we can’t get here in the States.
Thanks!
