Duri Nail Polish

Duri Cosmetics is a brand that is new to me and from what I have seen so far, I am REALLY happy to have discovered their polish line. These aren’t “new” colors, but they are colors I think a lot of you will really like and want to try out. The application on all of these was really nice. Creamy, not too thick or thin and it dried fairly quickly. What I REALLY loved about all four of these is that they all have that “lit from within” effect and look amazing both inside and out in the sun!

Duri Encore Duri Nail Polish
Encore

Encore is a gorgeous jewel colored navy blue with light blue shimmer. It may not be the most original color on the planet for nail polish, BUT is it worth owning if you are a blue lover like me. This was three coats.

Duri Rock N Roll Duri Nail Polish
Rock ‘N Roll

See what I mean about lit from within here? Rock ‘N Roll is freaking beautiful! This is one of those really rare ruby reds that I fall in love with. It has a slight “blackened” effect to it, but definitely doesn’t look black or close to it indoors. It’s so “glowy” and shimmery. This was three coats.

Duri Break Dance Duri Nail Polish
Break Dance

Break Dance is now one of my favorite vampy colors ever. The color is a deep blackened eggplant purple and the shimmer is red. It’s dark, glowy, vampy, jewel toned, what more can you ask for? This was three coats as well.

Duri Dirty Dancing Duri Nail Polish
Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing is my second fav of these. In the bottle it’s extremely hard to tell what color it might be; brown, red, purple? It goes on a little thin and sheer, but after three coat it builds to this nice opaque brown/red with multi-colored shimmer. It’s really hard to describe the color. It’s really dark, but not black looking at all. Tres chic!

I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for more Duri polishes. They have about 250 colors listed on their website! Have you ever tried them and what do you think of these?

Check them out here, they retail for $5.00.

I have never tried Duri, but they certainly look promising! Rock and Roll is so reflective and alive with brightness. Very pretty on you.

    Hi Helen,

Most of the other colors are lighter, though there are a few other dark ones I haven’t seen yet!

These are pretty but I have to hold off. I finally managed to persuade my dad (aka the Holy ATM machine) to buy Mom and I about $90 of nail polish this Friday from Trans Design, Inc. online. I’m hoping the shipping isn’t too outrageous.

It’s for a the other half of my mom’s Mother’s Day present. We paint our nails together. I had to promise him though I wouldn’t beg for any for a few months. She knows he’s buying a lot of polish but she doesn’t know which shades I’ve picked out for her. I’ve studied her reactions and words carefully the past week and wrote down all the ones she likes. It’s probably the first and last haul for a looooooooong time.

What brand of nail polish thinner do you suggest for fixing goopy, thick polish? I’m thinking about getting a bottle along with my order.

    Hi Kate,

Yay that’s so awesome your dad did that for you!

I use Poshe’s thinner and it’s worked pretty well so far. You only need a drop or two to a bottle and it really helps!

I know, I was surprised when he said okay. I usually have to beg to spend that much money! With my little bro, he normally doesn’t have to beg to buy a video game, computer game, unessential computer parts (exactly how many motherboards do you need?), and other guy stuff. Me? I have to beg or barter. So, yes, I’m basking in the glory of spending $90 on something he deems “frivolous” without needing to barter.

I was thinking about getting either Seche’s or OPI’s nail polish thinner. Seche’s is very expensive for a smaller bottle than OPI’s. Have you tried either of those?

Ooh! What lovely colors. And do my eyes deceive me, or are your nails longer than usual? it’s a nice length, looks great on you!

I love these too! I don’t need anymore dark, vampy colors, but these are making it hard to resist pulling the trigger.

    Hi Kate,

    I agree, that isn’t fair!

I have not tried Seche’s or OPI’s, but I’ll bet they are both good.
