Zoya Ooh-La-La Collection Summer 2009
Zoya has two new collections out for summer 2009 and today I am showing you the metallic collection called Ooh-La-La. I have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of these beauties and as soon as they came I swatched them even though the sun was only peeking out here and there. So pics taken in sun/clouds with no top coat.

Ginessa is a truly cool silvery white polish that is metallic looking but also filled with little sparkles. I am not usually a fan of metallic silver or white but this was extra special because of the sparkle. The application was very nice, though I used three coats to get full opacity (which I generally do with most polishes anyway).

Emme is a pretty pastel light pink that was nice, but didn’t blow me away. It looked good on me and the application was pretty even for a metallic, it just isn’t my favorite color. This is three coats.

Katy is a great fuschia pink with purple/blue shimmer in it. This flowed really nicely onto the nail and was opaque in just two coats.

Goldie is a very unusual gold that leans towards copper or olive or something. It’s definitely not your average yellow gold, that’s for sure! While I love the color in the bottle, it looked awful on me because of the yellow undertones I have in my skin. This would look fab on non-yellow skin though! No application issues and this was three coats.

Tallulah is a very pretty medium blue that has a yellow/green flash to it from the shimmer. I really like it, especially with my skin tone but not sure it’s TOTALLY original. If you love blues though, this is a must have. The application on this was also fabulous. This was three coats.

Midori. Hands down the favorite of the bunch for me. I love it. Midori is a grass green that flashes yellow. It’s outstanding and reminds me a lot of China Glaze’s now discontinued Moonpool (which I just got form eBay and will be showing you soon!). The application was excellent and this was three coats.
I will be bringing you the second half of Zoya’s summer collection soon called La-Di-Da which are bright cremes.
If interested in these colors please visit their site here. They retail for $6.00 each.

Hi Kelly! Thanks for swatching these. I like Tallulah and Midori. The others look like ones I’ve seen many times before. Looking forward to the second collection.
Hi Lucy,
You are most welcome! I agree those are the best two.
I love Midori, such a pretty summery green! The name makes me like it that much more
I’ve heard/seen so much about these. Can’t wait to get my hands on some of them! Great swatches, as usual
Hi Legra,
I know it’s so pretty and I love Midori flavor also!
Hi Kristen,
Thanks! Which ones do you like the best?
I think Katy and Midori need to come home with me
Gorgeous swatches!
Holy Moly!! Goldie is lovely, and so is Midori!!
Midori is such a pretty colour (my favourite in the bunch), but for some reason every time I read it, I keep seeing Midol! Haha!
P.S. Thanks for the excellent swatches again.
Hey! Midori looks a lot like Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine in Flash, which is my all time favorite green nail polish.

That is the only pic I have of it, sorry it’s not that great.
Hi Meghan,
I think you mean Glow, right? I have that and yes it is very similar!
I only want Midori and it looks just like SH Glow so maybe I can skip this collection. I tend to buy all autumn and winter collex and not so much fall in love with the spring or summer ones. At least this year so far…
This new metallic collection from Zoya called Ooh-La-La seems to have some real cool colors. I loved most of them would like to try them out.
Hi Sminkan,
I totally get that, I am much more excited for fall collections also, the vampy’s!!
Yes! I love it! If I could get my hands on Midori I would.
Katy and Calypso are coming to me, as is a free Midori, thanks to following Zoya on twitter. Your swatches here convinced me of it
Hi Phyrra,
Very nice!
Your website and polish reviews are awesome! I’m wondering if any of you know of a really good, super sparkly red glitter nail polish on the market these days? A clear base with gobs of metallic glitter, not the fine glitter but the reg size….It’s VERY difficult to find, and so perfect when applied over a deep blood red. Looks great poolside
Thanks for your help! -Heather
Hi Heather,
Thanks so much! I haven’t really reviewed many red glitters and the ones I have reviewed, I believe, are all set in colored polish rather than clear. You can search on my site under either “red” or “glitter” to see which ones I have reviewed.
