Zoya La-Di-Da Collection Summer 2009
The second collection Zoya has for summer 2009 is called La-Di-Da. These are cremes and four of them in particular are neons (though they call them Ultra Brights). Pics taken in sun/clouds with no top coat.

So as you know neons are notoriously hard to get true pictures of. Pippa is brighter than this pic but its not as screaming yellow as some. The yellow of this one is really nice and sunny, almost lemony. This is one yellow I can wear, yay! This was streaky the first two coats but mostly evened out after the third.

Paz is BRIGHT AS HELL people! You could see it from space it’s so bright! It reminds me of Cal Trans, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, haha! The application on this wasn’t streaky at all and this was only two coats.

Renee is also much brighter than this picture reflects. It’s a really pretty creamy pink, very flattering on pale skin. Application was great, this was three coats.

Ali is the other UBER NEON in this collection (Ali & Paz are the brightest ones). It’s a pinker lighter version of Renee. The application was excellent and smooth and this was only two coats.

Dita is a pretty pink berry creme that isn’t one of the neons. Super creamy and nice, it flowed onto my nails with no issues. This is another one great for fair skin as it’s blue toned. This was three coats.

America is a great classic “American” red. Reminds me a lot of the red they wore in the 1950′s. This too is a blue based red.No application issues and this was three coats.
These are all available now on Zoya’s site for $6.00 each. You can find them here.
Which are your favs in both Ooh-La-La and La-Di-Da? How do you think it compares to their spring Twist collection?

Welcome! My name is Kelly and Vampy Varnish is a animal friendly beauty blog.

I really like Ali, although Paz is hot, too!
Hey, do you have Essie Short Shorts? How do the neon pinks compare? I already have the one by Essie, but if they’re different enough, I’d buy Ali – hehe…I’m about to break my ban! :O
Hi Atomica,
I don’t have Short Shorts though I meant to buy it about a million times last year and just never did!
Hi Vampy varnish!
Wow I love Dita, unusual and very pretty colour.
I read your comment on makeup and beauty blog about Essie sensitivity base coat, I haven’t tried this and was wondering if it does help to stop nails peeling. Also could you tell me how it makes polish wear? I’m looking for a good base that will make my polish last a week without giving me peeling nails!
Thankyou
these are pretty, and I love zoya, but don’t think any are that unique to justify buying this spring. Even the yellow-it looks like a dupe of creamy from a couple summers back…(which I have and I think is going to be my Easter mani).
Hi Alisonmidd,
Actually that’s the reason I started using it, I too was having peeling issues and think it may have been from harsher base coats. My nails seem to be in better shape since I started using it. It makes my polish last longer for sure than with no base or with some other ones.
. Also some people tend to have more oils in their nail beds I think, so wear changes from person to person. I see other nail bloggers saying their polish lasted 7 days with no tip wear and I just am shocked, I usually show tip wear after 24-48 hours!
To be honest I have never had nail polish last more than 4 days before I had to remove it no matter what I use! The absolute best system I have found so far for good wear for 3-4 days is Zoya’s color-lock system. I wash my hands a TON and water destroys polish so there’s really nothing I have found that lasts longer one me
Hi Amanda,
I get what you’re sayinf for sure. The only color that totally blew me away was Midori. I actually think I liked Twist better as a whole collection than Ooh-La-La and La-Di-Da. I am already salivating for Fall colors though because vampy’s are my fav and I really want to see some new ones already!
I am in love with Zoya’s entire summer collection (both Ooh-La-La and La-Di-Da) and I’m very much looking forward to getting them! I haven’t used Zoya before, so how is the quality with them? I’ve heard many things about it, usually all good, but just wanted to get a your opinion! Thanks for the swatches!
Hi Kristen,
Zoya is seriously great. I very rarely run into any kind of application issue with any of their colors and I have about 50 of them. They have such a great range of colors and finishes, you definitely need to try them out! I’ve swatched a ton of them so you can view them all under “Zoya” in the categories section. Thanks for writing in!
Hi Kelly, Happy Easter! These shades look lovely on you. They are all great colors. Nothing that jumps out at me, except for Midori.
The new La-Di-Da collection form Zoya has some real vibrant colors which are looking wonderful. I would love to try out quite a few of them.
Hi Lucy,
Thanks you too. That seems to be the consensus, most people love Midori but just think the rest is ok.
Try putting your hand under water when taking pictures of neons. makes the colours pop.
i would have never thought i would like yellow nail polish but i love it!!
Thanks so much for your detailed reply I think I will give essies sensitivity base a try. To be honest I would love to be able to make my mani last up to 4 days but in reality I know I would take it all off and change it after 2 days anyway!
Thanks again for all your help, you’re a star!
