Sephora Metallic Nail Polish

Sephora has recently come out with a line of mini nail polishes and included in their new collection are some metallics. The formula on these was kind of hit or miss. Some were great but some seemed thick and almost stringy. However all the colors I tried turned out to be pretty great colors! I must say I loathe mini bottles, I find them useless to be honest. They are hard to hold, the wands are so short that it makes the application that much more difficult. Plus two of these I loved so much I want FULL bottles! Are you listening Sephora? Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Fusion is a really cool gold metallic that looks like my nails were dipped in gold leaf or something. This one was thick and stringy but the color was great nonetheless. This was only two coats as it’s pretty opaque.

Sephora Disco copy Sephora Metallic Nail Polish

Disco is a great fuschia pink which though billed as a metallic, was definitely more shimmery. The shimmery particles are red pink and purple. This polish was also a bit thick but very opaque, I only needed two coats.

Gothik is your standard gunmetal grey metallic. I really liked this but don’t feel as though it’s amazingly different from a lot of other grey metallics out there. The application was pretty good on this but it did need three coats.

Smurf was one of the ones I REALLY want in a full bottle size!! This color rocks my world. It’s a deep vampy reddish brown base with gobs of tiny red particles throughout. Again this isn’t a metallic so not sure why it’s listed as one on their site and also have no idea why it’s called Smurf since Smurf’s are blue! BUT this is one of my favorite vampy reds now, I just love it. It goes on sheer and looks kind of watery and gross at first but after three coats it’s fabulous!

Modern is the other polish I want full sized. It isn’t metallic either but rather a really nice blurple jam packed with shimmer. It  reminds me of a couple of the OPI Russian polishes. The base is a deep purple and the shimmer is blue and pink giving it that blurple effect. The application was pretty smooth and nice. My pics couldn’t capture the true color of this one, but trust me, it’s amazing, especially in the sun! This too was three coats.

I have some Sephora mini glitters coming up in a post soon to share with you. If you are interested in these and lots more by the Sephora brand, visit their site here. These mini’s are $5.00 each (which I think is outrageous for how small they are).

    Hi Yaya,

You should check ‘em out they have a tin listed under “metallic” then about 8 or so of the glitter ones. But like I said they are all mini’s and $5.00 each.

I like Smurf and Modern. That is weird calling a vampy color Smurf. I agree totally with you about the colors. I also hate mini bottles.

  • I LOVE Modern! I got the glitter np from Sephora and that formula was horrible and tip wear was very noticeable quickly! Good luck with those! Can’t wait to hear/read what you think of them.

    Hi Nessa,

Totally agree with you on the formula of the glitters. They were messy and sticky and thick. I didn’t wear them long enough to check out the wear but I believe you!

I think they all look great on you, but Smurf and Modern leave me breathless!

These are pretty cool colors. I like Modern, Smurf & Disco but don’t know if $5 is worth it. I like how you are now adding a close up pic. Nice touch!

    Hi Denny,

Thanks! I am definitely wanting to add the close up of ones that are hard to see the true awesomeness of in the regular photos
