OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 – Part I

Today I am bringing you part 1 of my OPI South Beach swatches for spring 2009. The formula on all of these was fabulous, as almost all OPI’s are. I had not a single issue with cuticle drag, sheerness or bubbles. I have to say, the ones I am showing today are not my favs of this collection, those come in Part 2. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

OPI Sand In My Suit OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part I

Sand In My Suit actually turned out to be nicer on me than I would have thought. The color is like a golden beige with gold shimmer and for a neutral color, I actually really liked it. I think it could work on either fair or dark skin tones. This was three coats to get it completely opaque.

OPI Clubbing Till Sunrise OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part I

Yeah, this did not work for me as I knew it wouldn’t. Darker skin yes but me, no way! This reminds me a lot of Spa Ritual’s Revere. They are very similar, but this has a bit more gold whereas Revere is a bit more orange. This was three coats.

OPI Bronzed To Perfection OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part I

Amazingly I loved this one! This color doesn’t scream spring to me, more like fall, but it was so nice anyway. It’s like a warm creamy toffee color with gold shimmer. I didn’t really like it until I put on three coats, then it deepened and was very flattering. Again, I think this would work on various skin tones.

OPI Conga Line Coral OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part I

Typically I am not a huge fan of coral, never have been. This was ok for me, it looked nice on my skin just did nothing for me in terms of excitement. The color is a reddish/coral with gold shimmer and could work on various skin tones. I think it would make for a better pedi than mani on me. This was three coats.

OPI OPI On Collins Ave OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part I

This one surprised me a bit, I really liked it. In fact I am wearing it right now as a pedi. I’m in love lately with all these poppy red and red/pink combo cremes. They are really flattering on fair skin and I think this could work on darker as well (like all of these seem to). This was three coats.

Stay tuned for part II coming soon!

You can find all of these for sale either here or here.

The only one I looked twice on is Bronzed to perfection, but I probably wont buy it anyway. Hoping the other ones look better :D

Bronzed to Perfection is nice. The rest are okay. Nothing new.

I think even if Clubbing Till Sunrise doesn’t work on my crazy pale Irish skin I still must own it. It’s too pretty and I love orange. Now that I see it on you, I think I have to have Bronzed to Perfection too.

I like bronzed to perfection the best out of the ENTIRE collection. What can I say, I am soooo drawn to the brown shades. I like colors like On Collins Ave for pedis.

  • Ya. I don’t think the colors are that special. Great names though.
