Make Up Store Nail Polish

St. Patrick’s Day came early for me! Yesterday was a pretty awful day at work, we found out that a Swiss company who has been trying to buy us out is now going to be merging with us. Since my company has such a unique culture (very laid back and entrepreneurial) and this company is very corporate and let’s just say uptight, we are all really worried the good people will leave in droves and/or we’ll get the axe or our awesome benefits will disappear…So needless to say it sucked. But then I got home and saw a package that I wasn’t expecting! I opened it up and lo and behold it was a beautiful polish from the brand Make Up Store. My friend Sminkan in Sweden sent it to me as a thank you for something I had sent her. It was so nice of her and the color is PERFECT for both St. Patty’s Day and spring! Enjoy!

Check out them Photoshop skills, haha! This color isn’t your traditional “Irish green”, but I am not a particularly traditional person either! The color is a very mesmerizing mint green creme and it’s so opaque only two coats are needed. You may be thinking, hmmm I have seen something like this before and you would be right. Barielle’s Sweet Addiction from their Sugar Rush collection is very similar, but definitely not a dupe. Paula is much more “minty” and lighter whereas Sweet Addiction is darker and has more of a “dusty” effect to it. Anyway I am wearing it right now and already got a compliment from a co-worker on it, so thanks again Sminkan!

  • Great Photoshop skills! You did an awesome job!
That really sucks about your company! I hope they don’t cut the benefits. They have been threatening to cut mine at my job. But I think they were just threatening and want us to cut out the smaller things like luncheons.
What a nice thing to come back to!
BTW I gave your blog an award here!

    Hi Nessa,

    Thanks!

I hope they don’t cut them either we have some pretty rare and amazing bennies that you just don’t see in corporate companies so we don’t wanna wind up like them! UGH.

I hope everything stays the same with your company. It’s so scary these days with all the money problems. I do like the nail polish. I’m wearing BB’s Poison Ivy for St Patrick’s Day.

  • Interesting content.

Just wanted to share some information that may help busy professionals caught up with work and who have less time to maintain their nails. You can try out gel nails which are now becoming a hot favorite as they are natural looking even without nail tips and the best way for nail enhancement. Also, if you are allergic to those strong smelling chemicals which you can experience with acrylic nails, then you should use gel nails as these are odorless.

However, when you are planning on gel nail application, make sure you approach a nail salon or a nail artist who is well versed with gel nails and is properly trained and mastered in gel applications. This will save you from problems that can arise with improper gel nail applications.
