MAC Peppermint Patti

MAC’s new Sugarsweet collection included Peppermint Patti, which is one of two nail polish colors that came out. The other one called Seasonal Peach does nothing for me so I didn’t get it. The pic below was taken in sun with no top coat but for some reason my skin was BRIGHT red in every pic! I had to touch this one up to reduce the red (which you can still kinda see around my nails) but the color of the polish is accurate.

So like most everyone else, this one was really streaky and thick for me. I needed three coats to get it pretty much even, but you can still see a bit of streakiness. The color itself is a great minty green creme. Not sure I am thrilled with this one, I would give it a 6 out of 10 stars overall. You can find this (it’s currently sold out) on MAC’s site here and it retails for $11.00.

Ciao for now!

It’s just too…minty for my taste. As in, Spearmint chewing gum mint (which I utterly despise). I don’t want to wear that on my nails, thank you.

Plus, $11 without including tax for an über streaky nail polish is just plain wrong. I could buy nearly 5 bottles of Sinful Colors which rarely streaks for me for the price of that streaky polish. Or that’s the price for one-and-a-half mini sets of OPI nail lacquer. It’s the price of one OPI RapiDry Top Coat Nail Polish which I use all the time.

Ack, my hands are always red or pale milky white in photos. I’ve learned to put up with it.

I got PP also-same here for me with the streaking the polish was thick. Hopefully we can find another color like this.

I’ve always wondered if Seche Restore would work with this. But then… I don’t want my bottle ruined. Neither do I want extra coats. MAC, fix the f@#$ing formula!!

I was so dissapointed with the application of this polish! I love the color, but I needed 3 coats as well. Oh well, it’s worth it!!

I love the color, but I did have to use four coats. I didn’t have much trouble with the formula itself, but there were just streakies everywhere.
And so, four really took care of that.

Buuuut, the color is incredibly terrible with my skin tone – my hands looked just as red as yours in the pic the entire time I had the polish on.
I am all over the greens no matter how bad they look on my skin but for some reason this one particularly highlighted my skin’s redness!

I wanted this colour so much, then almost everyone I heard from said it was streaky and required at least 3 coats. For my limited budget, that isn’t worth the $11. I think I will go look for China Glaze Get in Lime.
