Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection – Part I

As you may already know, Dashing Diva has about 100 new polishes in their Manhattan collection which was released a couple months ago. I reviewed some back in December I believe and liked them a lot so I have some more to review!

I really love Dashing Diva, their colors are fabulous and they don’t stick to one “genre” like boring work colors or neutrals. Their formula is really spot on, I never have issues with them. There are two parts to this saga and part one which I am showing today is the more “classic” of the set. These are all variances on the color red and two in particular I really love. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Dashing Diva 5 Heels Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part I

5″ Heels is a really great bright orange/red shimmery frost. The shimmer is gold colored and very subtle. I think this polish would look great on a wide variety of skin tones because it’s kind of middle of the road in terms of cool and warm. This was three coats.

Dashing Diva China Town Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part I

China Town is a pretty blue based red with a jelly like formula. It also has a frosty finish. This one I think suits cooler skin tones better because of the blue in it. This was also three coats.

Dashing Diva Stock Exchange Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part I

Stock Exchange is a deeper, slightly more “vampy” red creme. You might be able to tell this was a bit streaky on me, but then again I wasn’t using a base coat. This red is also blue based and this is three coats.

Dashing Diva Mulberry Street Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part I

Mulberry Street really isn’t “red” per se, it’s more of a grape/pink. I LOVE this color and trust me, this pic doesn’t do it justice. It’s super shimmery with a hint of frost and just gorgeous on, like a jewel. This is one of those lit from within colors. This is three coats.

Dashing Diva Jet Set Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part I

Jet-Set is my fav of this bunch. I LOVEEEEEEEE this! It reminds me a lot of Lippmann’s Bitches’ Brew but isn’t a dupe. The color is a beautiful deep ruby red with a glow about it like candles are floating above it  making it sparkle. Ok that sounds wacky but trust me, it’s THAT nice! This is three coats.

You can find Dashing Diva polishes here and they retail for $8.00

You know, for the longest time I was not a fan of red nail polish unless it was really dark (I’m usually more into purples, greens, and blues), but lately I’ve been lusting after every shade of it. Your red swatches really piqued my interest.

(Right now I’m wearing OPI Vodka & Caviar – it’s a creme that’s not too bright and not too dark. Have you tried it?)

    Hi Atomica,

I have my phases as well. I am usually not that into reds and pinks either but lately there have been some really great ones!

I haven’t tried Vodka & Caviar, but I love the name!

Yum, love JetSet! Some polishes just make you happy every time you catch sight of your fingers don’t they?! I’m off to see if anywhere in the UK stocks this brand – looking forward to next batch of pix, thanks for a great blog, Jo :-)

    Hi Jo,

I totally know what you mean and believe me Jet-Set is way more amazing in person and especially in the sun. SO pretty!

    Hi Vesper,

No it’s definitely not a dupe to It’s Genuis. I don’t have Lasso My Heart though so I can’t say for sure.

  • I’m wearing Mulberry Street today! you’re right… this color is simply fabulous. It’s one of my favorites in a long, long time.

I did have application issues with Show Off (a bright bright pink cream). it was gloppy, cuticle drag, chipped easily, and I even ended up with a weight line on the tip. I’m going to try it again with Seche Clear for the base, and Vite as the top coat (I used CND Sticky the first time, with Out the Door top coat). Oh and I had 3 coats on and it still was uneven. :( I loved the color though… maybe I just got a bad bottle?

    Hi Bionic Beauty,

SEE isn’t it fabulous? I love it and glad you like it too!

Hmm that’s weird about Show Off. Sometimes pink cremes are streaky and weird though. But definitely try with another base/top coat. I tried Sinful’s San Francisco once with CND Stickey base and Poshe top and it would not dry and turned totally sticky and weird!
