Vampy Varnish Interview

Hi Folks! Happily, the sun has been out for a few hours here so I have been swatching away some delicious stuff for you! On another note (a tooting my own horn kind of note) I was interviewed by Penny from Zularis Naturals, which is a company that makes hand lotions, scrubs, aromatherapy items, massage oils, etc. Penny recently sent me a package of things to review from her company and I will be doing that within a few days. Anyway, if you’re interested, here is the link to the article on their blog!

Lack of Postings…

Hi folks! Sorry its going to be a slow week for postings from me as I have no swatches already done and the sun won’t be out until who knows when! I DID get a light box for Xmas, however after playing with it quite a bit I have discovered that the lighting isn’t powerful enough, so I am on the hunt for some new lights. Some fun things I have in store are:

Color Club – Catwalk Queen & Femme Fatale collection
Misa – Living on the Fast Lane collection
BB Couture – Spring 2009 collection
Rimmel – New colors for Spring
Knockout Nail Polish – Black/White matte colors
Some cool polishes from Japan, Singapore & Sweden
Review of Zularis Naturals hand & foot lotion

And possibly some others, so stay tuned!

Dazzle Dry Nail Polish

Hi Vampies! Today I am bringing you a brand that is new to me, though not technically new. The name is Dazzle Dry and it’s by VB Cosmetics. The Dazzle Dry lacquers come in about 35-40 different colors right now and dry super duper fast. When I say fast I am not kidding, I am talking 5 minutes. They were nice enough to send me these colors to try out and when used with a base coat, 2 coats of color and their top coat, my nails were COMPLETELY dry in 5 minutes! Amazing. The only downfall of this is that 24 hours later, I had many chips. However, having said that, the base coat they sent me seemed to be very old because when I tried it, it bubbled immediately, so I wound up using CND’s Stickey. Maybe it would have lasted better if I had used their base coat. I had no application issues with any of these and the colors are really cool! Pics in sun with no top coat.

Dazzle Dry Vive LeViolet Dazzle Dry Nail Polish
Vive LeViolet
Vive LeViolet is a really nice creamy mid-toned violet/lavender that leans towards pink. Sorry about the middle finger issue, I had something on my nail. Anyway, I think this color is definitely suited more to those that are fair toned. This is two coats.

Matte Nail Polish from Knockout Cosmetics

There is an awesome new trend happening right now and it’s matte nail polish. Now we already know about ManGlaze matte polishes which are pretty cool (swatched here and here). But I just read about some new ones from Knockout Cosmetics that look *bleeping* awesome! The polishes were created by a guy named Mike Potter, who is a makeup artist best known for hair & makeup in the movie and stage production of Hedwig & the Angry Inch. The colors so far are black, white and they just introduced pink. I don’t have the polishes in my grubby little hands just yet, but I have the black & white on the way and I’m super excited about them! Here’s a peek at what they’re gonna look like.

Barielle Shades Spring 2009

TGIF! Barielle recently released their Spring 2009 collection, which is pretty tame but still pretty. You are not going to find any crazy, weird, odd, mind blowing colors in this collection,  rather more professional and muted colors. I think of these colors as perfect for: the job interview, your cousin’s wedding and colors Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl would approve of. smile Barielle Shades Spring 2009 I didn’t have any application issues with these whatsoever. I am really happy that Barielle put out this new “Shades” collection of colors because they really are nice! All pics taken in sun & shade with no top coat.
