Stage and Make Up Store Nail Polish Swatches

EDIT: I am sorry, I am losing my mind! I blame it on the fact that I am in pain from a herniated disk and on medication. I was incorrect in stating that The Asian Girl sent me these polishes. It was in fact another lovely person in Singapore. I totally apologize for the error and feel like a horse’s ARSE! However having said that The Asian Girl still rocks, LOL!

Hello Internet! Today I am bringing you two totally awesome polishes from lands far, far away (from me at least)! These were both gifted to me by a lovely nail blogger called The Asian Girl (her blog called Gettin’ Nailed is here). It always amazes me how nice people can be, thanks SO MUCH for these! She sent me two others as well, which I will show in another post. All the info is under the pics and the pics were taken in sun and shade with no top coats. You will notice that I got rid of the colored border and my watermark in my pics. I just felt they were distracting and pointless and I am trying to be more minimal, hope you like!

Zularis Naturals

Recently Penny Tallent from Zularis Naturals contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying out her line of hand and foot care products called Zularis Naturals. Well who am I to sneeze at an offer like that, so of course I said yes! Before I go any further a little background on Zularis Naturals. Penny became a licensed manicurist in 1994 after years of nursing (and tons of hand washing) left her hands and nails dry and cracked. Still, she couldn’t find any products that worked to help her situation so she decided to research natural ingredients online. After testing her own concoctions, she came up with a body butter that improved her skin and even stopped her nails from splitting and they began to grow. Soon her family & friends wanted to try this out and so it became a small business. I tested the products out and my reviews are under the pics below.

Sephora by OPI Swatches

I feel as though I somehow moved to Seattle and no one told me! THAT is how insanely rainy it has been. I am talking non-stop rain and downpours since Friday afternoon. I understand we need the rain but come on, isn’t it over yet?? Ok enough of that. Today I am bringing you a couple new colors from the Sephora by OPI line. They released I think 5 or 6 new colors for their Spring collection, but these two were the only ones that popped to me. You will see in my review below a consistency issue with one of them. Pics taken in sun & shade with no top coat.

BB Couture Spring 2009

Hi folks, today I’m showing you BB Couture’s Spring 2009 collection. Let me apologize in advance for the craptastic shape of my nails. I have been having major peeling and splitting issues for some reason so I keep having to cut them very short and then I can never get the same shape twice! Gargh! See even nail polish bloggers can’t always have perfect nails. smile BB Couture Spring 2009

So the weird thing for me about this collection is that two of the colors look vastly different on me than on some of the other bloggers (Scrangie & e-Polishblog). I am thinking this must be due to lighting and camera angle, but it turns out I like the way the polish turned out on them WAY better than on me, which kinda sucks! Pics taken in sun & shade with no top coat.

Knockout Cosmetics Matte Nail Polish

I finally got my Knockout matte nail polishes and the sun came out for a little bit so I could take some good pics. These colors were created by Mike Potter who is a stage and movie makeup artist (he did makeup & hair for Hedwig & the Angry Inch). First off I have to say I am astounded at how gigantic the bottles are! They are super tall, but that leads to a slight issue for me. The handles are extra long and I mean EXTRA long, which makes it harder to control. But even with all that I LOVE these, especially the black one. One thing I want to throw in there is that I know these are expensive at $22.00 a pop and that a lot of people won’t pay that price or even like the “edgy” look of these and I totally understand that. I just want to show people as wide a range of colors, price points and brands as possible on my site to try and please everyone at least sometimes! Pics taken in sun with no top coat (of course because that would ruin the matte effect!)
