Color Club One & Done Eco-Conscious Nail Polish

Color Club recently released a new line of mini eco-conscious polishes called “One & Done”. There are 24 polishes in this collection so I picked up a few that appealed to me. The application on all colors (with one exception noted below) was outstanding as I am finding most of their colors to be. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Hippie Chick
This one turned out a lot more sheer than I thought it was going to. It’s a very light beige/pink shimmer that took three coats to get to bottle color. It’s not my favorite because it matches my skin too closely, but I think would look great on darker skin.

Misa Nail Polish – Part II

It’s the weekend, yay! Isn’t it pathetic when all you live for is the weekend or days you are not at work? Ugh, guess it happens to us all. Anyhoo, today I am bringing you four more random Misa polishes I picked up awhile ago. As a general rule, their polishes are so awesome. The quality is fabulous, I never have bubbling, streaking, cuticle drag or anything and it seems to dry in a fairly quick fashion as well. All pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Misa Double Date Misa Nail Polish Part II
Double Date
Double Date is a really pretty lavender with a pearl like finish. It definitely is very sheer at first and this is three coats. In general I am not a huge fan of pearl polishes for some reason but this was very pretty on me and I could see wearing when I’m in more of a “mellow” mood.

Misa Nail Polish – Part I

What’s goin on? I am happy that today is already Thursday and the week is almost done! Today I’m bringing you some bright -ass polishes from Misa that recently joined my stash. These are not new, but I needed something to brighten up my day on this dreary rainy day (yes it’s now raining once again in the Bay Area as it should be). Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Green With Envy
This is BRIGHT people! The first coat or two I was thinking it made me look like I had Scurvy or some old world disease. But then by the third coat I kinda dug it. Make no mistake, this isn’t for the weak! The color is a neon based yellow/green creme and it went on like butta.

Lancome Midnight Glam Nail Polish

Happy Tuesday folks. I won this polish last month in a contest I entered and was highly excited. You see, this is only the third thing in my entire life I have ever won! The first was a CUP OF LEMONADE at a yelling/singing contest (the hokey pokey) at a roller rink when I was like 10. How lame is that? The second was just a couple years ago at work, I won third place in the animal category of a photo contest. And now this. I was super excited about this color from what I saw online, but I have to say I am disappointed after trying it out. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Midnight Glam
The color just turned out to be kind of anti-climactic to me for some reason. Yes it’s a shimmery midnight blue with light blue particles throughout. But it just doesn’t *wow* me at all. Not to mention my issues with the handle. More on that below. This was two coats.

Essie Spring 2009 Collection

Hidey ho there neighbor! Today I am bringing you Essie’s Spring 2009 collection. This is a fairly “safe” collection (with one fabulous exception) of creme polishes that overall I liked a lot. There were a couple that I wasn’t totally blown away by but a couple I am very fond of as well. All the colors went on very smooth and creamy and I had no application issues. All pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Essie Eternal Optimist Essie Spring 2009 Collection
Eternal Optimist
As you might have guessed Eternal Optimist was the one that impressed me the least. That’s not to say it’s not a good color, but on me it just didn’t work. It’s too “beige-y” and there wasn’t enough contrast between my skin tone and the polish to make it work. It’s a great “work safe” color though (for stuffy offices, yuck) so I guess I can just thank my lucky stars that I can wear ANYTHING I want to work! This is three coats.
