I thought it might be fun to show you guys some pics of what my polish collection looks like to date (minus some I am waiting to swatch). I think I am at about 200-250 polishes and I REALLY need count and track them at this point so I don’t order duplicates (which I have done more times than I care to mention…) Enjoy!
I have noticed a particularly unsettling trend as of late. People are just not commenting hardly at all on my site in the last 4-6 weeks. Is there a particular reason my commenter’s have been “dropping like flies”? Some of my recent Spring 2009 articles have been viewed 100+ times yet I will only get a few comments and I am just wondering if I am doing something wrong or if you are having technical issues with my site. Yahoo, it’s Friday and the weekend is almost here! Since it’s going to be a nice clear and sunny weekend for us here in the Bay Area, I thought I would show you the new Pastel Fever Spring 2009 collection from Nubar. This is my first trip down Nubar lane and I have mixed feelings about it. As you might know, chalky pastels are notoriously hard to pull off. They tend to be runny and streaky and these were no exception to that “rule”. I had great luck with some of the colors and not such great luck with others. I will not be judging Nubar’s formula by this collection alone though, since I think that I would run into the same issues with any brand that put out pastels. All pics taken in sun with no top coat. I put them in order from my least to most favorite. Enjoy!
I just realized I took these pics a long time ago and never published them, oops! They are from Sephora by OPI’s line of polishes and I have mixed feelings about them. I love making lists. Sometimes I make lists of things I have already done just so I can cross them off my list! I also love filling out polls, questionnaires and forms of pretty much any kind. This is why I started my Vampy Varnish weekly poll. Please let me know whether you love/hate or are indifferent to these kinds of posts.
1. Are you more afraid of spiders, snakes or sharks? I am not a huge fan of spiders since they tend to jump out or run across my lap and surprise me, but I can handle most (normal) sized ones. I’m not afraid of snakes. I have an older brother who had two 5-6 foot Boa Constrictors (named David and Ziggy after David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust) and a King snake (named Martin) while I was a kid and they never bothered me. Of course I never held them when they were their largest size either! For me it’s definitely sharks. One of my deepest, darkest fears is sharks. I’m talking great white and bull sharks mostly. I am completely fascinated with books about them and Discovery’s Shark Week, yet also terrified. I would much rather be torn apart limb by limb by a tiger in the jungle than be in the dark cold water with a shark. Having said that I totally respect them and their ocean and do not want people killing them, be it for food, fear or any other reason. 2. If you could move anywhere in the world (and you had an endless supply of money) where would you move and why? Since money would be no issue and I wouldn’t have to worry about the job market or anything else, I think I would be living somewhere tropical, relaxed and mellow like Tahiti or Fiji. I would most definitely have other houses though in London, Italy and maybe Malibu, CA or Palm Beach, FL. 3. What’s your mani/pedi right now? I am wearing Essie’s Damsel In A Dress as a mani and Orly’s Charged Up as a pedi. 4. What city/state/country were you born in? I was born in Walnut Creek, CA, USA. 5. What’s your favorite eye liner? Right now I am LOVING Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in Rock Star! 6. If you could create the perfect nail polish color, what would it be? This is a hard one for me. I think at least right now I am craving the perfect greenish shimmery teal. I have seen some nice ones for sure but none quite meet my dream teal yet… 7.
