Carolyn New York Swatches – The Blues

It’s almost Friday folks! I am very excited because after today I do not have to be back at work until Jan 5th, yahoooo! Sorry for the lack of posting, but it’s been horrifically cold and/or rainy here in the Bay Area as of late and I can’t take any good pics indoors. I am sure a lot of you are thinking, yeah right horrifically cold, what like 55 degrees? No my friends, this morning and yesterday the temp was 29 at my house! I can hear some of you who live in places that get -30 snickering, but trust me that’s DAMN COLD for us! It actually snowed! So anyway today I am bringing you the LAST of the pics that are crappy, yay! I do have a bunch of new stuff coming in from Chanel, Dashing Diva & Carolyn New York as well as some older favs from butter LONDON, Sephora by OPI, China Glaze and Misa so fear not, as long as the weather cooperates, I will have more swatches soon. All these were taken in sun with no top coat.

When I first saw this one I was thinking it looked more white than light blue. When you actually apply it though, it really is like a light blue sky. It has that *chalky* effect which I actually really like. It’s a creamy consistency but definitely needed three good coats because as most light polishes, it was a bit streaky at first.

Carolyn New York Swatches

Hump Day is here and with more craptastic
pics from my old camera! Wheeeeee. Ok for real, here are some Carolyn
New York swatches that I did last week when the sun was out and it
wasn’t 30 degrees like it is today. Global warming much? I am really liking their polishes lately. The price is right ($5.99 on their website) and the consistency has always been really great so far. The one thing that irks me is that they will not respond to my emails and they are a bit slow with shipping. Anyhoo, all
pics taken in sun with no top coat. And soon I will bring you some
other Carolyn New York blue polish swatches as well as their Holiday
collection which they just announced on their website here. Enjoy!

Isn’t this SO pretty? I always love a great purple and this is no exception. as you can see, it’s a really deep grape with blue and lavender shimmer. I was thinking that this is a lot like other purples I have but I just looked and really it’s not! The others are either blacker, lighter, brighter or a different purple, so I say buy it! This is 3 coats.

Essie – Winter 2008 Swatches

So it’s Monday yet again. Another week to struggle through! So to brighten up your day I wanted to show you my two new favorite Essie polishes from their Winter 2008 collection. I got these ones after the others from this collection that I already swatched and I think these might be my favorite ones. Pics taken in sun with no top coat and again with the crappy pics from the older camera, sorry!

I don’t know why but I was expecting this one to be more purple and less red, but I still like it. This is three coats here and the application was very smooth and nice. It’s a reddish/brown color with silvery shimmer. Very pretty! Oh and the name doesn’t bother me at all, I know some people weren’t thrilled with it, but I am not easily offended.
