butter London Holiday 2008

Happy Friday! The nice folks over at butter London sent me their Holiday 2008 sets to try out. I really like their polish. I know a lot of you feel it’s too expensive and you don’t know a lot about them, but I really believe in them and their collection. I absolutely LOVE the witty names of the colors and they definitely have some colors you will not see anywhere else. My only complaint, which I have mentioned before, is that the bottle shape is very hard to work with. For me it’s hard to get a really good grasp on the brush with that rectangle shape and then the top doesn’t want to go back on the bottle smoothly either, which creates a bit of a mess. It’s nice aesthetically, but not practical…Anyway I am only showing three of the four colors they sent because I already have and swatched one of them (Chancer). Pics taken in sun (when it came out for 10 seconds today) and with no top coat.

The Full Monty
Now don’t think of me the wrong way, I am not a Star Wars geek, but to me this color screams C3PO! I love it! It’s a really glittery awesome gold with a foil like finish. Normally I am not a *gold* person, but this is extremely flattering on fair skin (it almost has green undertones) and I will definitely be wearing it. You could do two coats, but I did three just for fun.

Diamond Geezer
Interestingly for me, I liked The Full Monty a little more which is really rare. Normally I am all about silver and not a fan of anything gold (I don’t have any gold jewelry for instance). This is a super cool silver though, again really glittery with a foil like finish. It’s just not totally original. Three coats again here.

Come To Bed Red

Come To Bed Red is very much what I would call a cherry red creme. It’s a blue based medium red and really pretty. I don’t think I would normally wear this, as I am into much darker reds, but maybe a summer pedi would be nice. However it is really Christmas-y also. This is three coats.

Vamp it up!

    Hi Sharon,

Yeah I think I like The Full Monty better than Kaleidoscope, though it doesn’t have the dimension and color changing properties that Kaleidoscope has. I don’t really get why everyone was so in love with it, I found it to be nice, but nothing spectacular.

I really like the full monty, very festive. I might get it, it would be my first butter polish. Now if I only found a store around me that carried them.

    Hi Marianna,

You probably have to get them online as I do. They have very few stores…www.butterlondon.com.

Ohhhh the full monty is really pretty!! But I just cannot buy a polish with bad caps like this. I need a nice normal cap or else I just cannot hold it properly.

Butter London is a brand that has always interested me, but I haven’t gotten around to trying. I’ve been considering an order from beauty.com and I will be tagging on a bottle of the Full Monty. I can’t believe they managed to surprise me with a gold polish! It’s definitely different than any other gold I own.

    Hi tarotbydiana,

I know I thought the same thing, most golds are similar and I can’t wear them but this is really a great one!

this collection would have been awesome, but that red is boring.. well comparing it to the silver and gold which are bling-a-licious amazing! (okay i hate the word bling, but it’s so apropriate!)
