Barielle Shades Fall Affair Nail Polish Swatches

Happy Saturday! I am very excited to show you my swatches of the new Barielle Shades collection called Fall Affair. I had been unaware that Barielle had colors until I went to their website where they just announced them! They have six colors for this collection and I immediately ordered the four I liked best. Let me tell you folks, I haven’t been this impressed with a collection in awhile! Every one is truly a stunning shade and the formula is SPOT ON. They all just glided right onto my nails and all were fully opaque in 2 coats. They also all look like they GLOW, as though they’re lit from within. I cannot wait to see more from Barielle! I got them from their website which you can find here. They are very reasonably priced at $8.00 each and they have a deal where if you buy two colors, you get one for free! All my pics are two coats, taken in sun with no top coat. And let me say for the record I really loved all these colors so it’s hard for me to pick a fav. The pics are in order of what might be my least to most fav. Enjoy!

Saying this is my least favorite really means nothing because I still love it. It’s a beautiful shade of cranberry pink/red with a gold/silver shimmer. I think this is a great holiday color.

Interview with the Vampire vs. Twilight

Today is the day Twilight comes out in theaters (in case you were living under a rock and didn’t already know). I am 3/4 of the way done with Eclipse as I write this and really like the series. I am not sure about seeing the movie, it looks really watered down to me and the actors do NOTHING for me whatsoever. I do not find any of them as attractive as they were supposed to be in the book, especially Edward (sorry for being a hater). When it comes to Vampire tales, I am old school all the way. I read Interview with the Vampire 19 years ago and was immediately hooked on Anne Rice (until recently, she’s now suddenly Christian, which I find bizarre). Sadly, the vast majority of people going to see the movie weren’t even born yet when I read it! The way Anne Rice wrote about Louis, Lestat, Armand and the others is unlike any other writer out there. The detail and descriptions of who they were and their struggles was SO intense. The romance between Bella and Edward in Twilight can’t hold a candle to the torment and agony that Louis went through in his relationship with his creator, Lestat. Now I know that Twilight is written for teens so of course it’s not going to be the same type of book, but once you have read any of Anne Rice’s legendary Vampire books, you can’t help but compare them to every other Vampire story. I’ll take Louis over Edward any day of the week (plus Brad Pitt in the movie Interview with the Vampire is SO much more attractive Robert Pattinson to me!). Tom Cruise on the other hand not so much…Either way, enjoy your Vampires for who they are and if you’re seeing the movie, let me know what you thought of it compared to the book. Does this seem fishy to you?

Morning Vampies! So remember last week I did a post about a man named Darren Garnick from the Boston Herald blog? He writes these really humorous stories on his blog about his adventures in the nail polish world. He recently decided to try the new fish pedicure (which is all the rage) and write about his experience. Not ONLY did Darren have those tiny little fishies nibble on his feet, but went one (huge) step further and actually painted his nails a lovely shade of bright orange. Essie Swatches and Zoya Kalista Contest!

The Essie swatches are here folks! The wonderful people over at Essie were kind enough to send these to me gratis, thank you so much! Overall I found these to all be really nice colors and applications. My pics all taken in sunlight with no top coat.

Pink Champagne from the Mega Mini Treasures Collection
Here we have Pink Champagne which is a very light white/pink frosty/shimmery polish. Because it was frosty it was a tad streaky and took a careful application to smooth it out. It’s also fairly sheer so needed three coats. It is a pretty color but maybe a little too tame for me in general.
